COOK simply means time spent with dampness + EWC + microbe food. It does need a reasonable temperature though (above 55f at the least).
Water-only is the cheapest, easiest way to grow and yields the best pot although I do use blackstrap molasses to add K and carbs here and there.
I don't fill the bottom of the pot with super soil I just use less N and P then transplant into it straight. Recycling the soil balances it out and makes it more coooperative.
