Storing seeds long term

Would like to hear your best method from experience...
Ive had some stored in the closet room temp sealed in mason jars for abt 3years now and seems like theyre not germinating as quickly as they did when i 1st got them...
Whats the best way to store seeds for years and still get good results?

Cold cellar in my basement along with all of my other seeds. Plastic containers with lids mostly, I prefer black 35mm film canisters. I store pollen this way too. I store all of the individual seed containers in a blue medium sized Rubbermaid bin.

Earlier this year I germinated seeds that I made myself over five years ago. I reliably and consistently get 100% germination and growth from seeds less than two years old. I've used pollen a year old, but a test with five year old pollen failed.

^ agree with these guys, i use a desiccant of some sort, rice, silica gel, and i store them in a cool basement - not recommending a fridge or freezer due to condensation that can form.

Thats kinda what ive been doing...in original packs in jars and in brown sack in closet at 70degrees... But I'd say your temps have been a little cooler...

Usually i just pop a seed or 2 outta each pack when i get them n then shelf em until ive ran down the lineup always popping different strains and now im getting into the ones that have been stored a while and their taking longer than when fresh...maybe this is normal20200701_144652.jpg20200701_144738.jpg
