I'm gonna be doing a jack herer from greenhouse seeds and a northern lights from 00 seeds. both are supposed to be quite big. damn i forgot about ph, ugh always annoying.

Grown both of them before but from different breeders. Well i guess it depends on which northern lights # you got. Ive grown 2 different ones side by side, one was more sativa leaning and did well and the other molded as it had much more dense bud.
Ive had bud mold not from rain but from the humidity and lack of wind with heavy dews at night. I raised nirvanas wonder woman one year that was simply fabulous looking, huge massive colas all over the plant and when i broke open the cola solid mold. I threw away a lot, prob 1.5-2lbs. Off that plant. Smaller bud made it threw ok as it didnt hold the moisture as bad. Still made a decent yield off that plant. Was not big either like shoulder tall.
I still have 2 seeds from it but they are regular. I should have kept a cutting as it was very skunk leaning in smell, strong and amazing yield. Got that same plant crossed with some mulanje.
I bred a wonder woman male to several strains and got some seed off those but have not yet put those in dirt.
Chemdawg, OG kush, gsc, trainwreck and i think it was iced grapefruit all made some babies.
I prob have bred a hundred different strains to various others for seed and havnt even put them in dirt as im always ordering new stuff. I think i have a problem actually. Im a seed junkie.
I got enough seed to last a long time if need be. Who knows maybe some of my stock will be valuable one day haha

very nice lol. Send me some seeds! I'm always window shopping on various seed sites. I've got a good stock now but yet I just want to order many many more haha.

If you have rocky or poorly drained soil, you may be forced to use an above ground pot. Since I live in the sandhills, I always put them in the ground. You can still use your soil mix. Just dig out how ever big of a hole you want.

I dug a 3x3x3 hole and backfilled it with good arreated soil.. and then put the 4ft tall 3 ft wide blue dream in it!!

ground dude add 2 hand fulls blood and bone 1 handful dolomite lime about 40 nitrophoska pellets and a half a teaspoon rootblast if u got it. this mix will last 3 months during vege if you only need a month veg flush it before it buds no need to buy soil just feed the one thats there if you want black soil go where there's vegetation or where the water will run when it rains plant just off it

not far bro you sort of want 2 ft by 2 ft hole go 3 foot wide you only need to dig it big enough to get established once it gets going it will go through anything the feeder roots spread out drinking roots go down black soil will hold water longer or if you dont wanna go back and water use porridge it will act as crystal rain but without the chems also it will feed the plant even good for feeding budding plants makes them rock solid. top the plants at a young age to get fatter stalks. fat stalk fat buds but id usually dig down till i hit sand or clay as sand will help strengthen up the plant this is guerrilla growing though

Hey thanks for all the info man. You said top to get fat stalks, i usually Lst my plants indoors, was going to try the same outside, but you said topping will make fat stalks? I kind of didn't want to top because I wanted to see how big of a plant I could grow. That's why I ordered a large strain.

Tying down typically gives the same result. I usually pinch the top on every outdoor plant. I might go back and do it some more if i want it in a ball.
If you want a christmas tree shaped plant that is 15' dont top or tie down and start early. Feed as much as she wants. Need to protect her from high winds so i like to plant closer to trees that are to the north with open sun facing the south. Some trees drip sap in the fall so watch for that.
I like to dig a hole past the hard pan so tap root can easily go deep. Your feeder roots will venture out seeking moisture and nutrients. Will travel several feet.
Remember if you have compacted dirt its harder for the roots to grow which equals smaller plants. If you have very loose soil need to brace up because if it gets too wet the plant can tip over. Just like a tree can.

Hmm okay. Well I would rather have a bush than a tall tree, but I would like to see a tall tree. Where I live there are pretty harsh winds at times though. Last year I had a big ass tree break in half and fall over just beside my garage. In town there were actual uprooted trees. Smaller plants though weren't as bad because they were closer to the ground and don't catch as much wind I guess. Of course that doesn't happen every year, that was a crazy bad storm, but we get pretty harsh winds. My garden is exposed only to the south though, I'm surrounded otherwise.
As far as the soil goes, its a pretty good area for farming, lots of dark soil, gets muddy and clumpy but not like clay does. They grow wheat, corn, sunflowers, and soybeans in my area a lot.

I dig my holes 12-18 inches deep. But there are pictures of a monster plant grown in a kiddie pool floating around here somewhere.

Go to a .99 cent or dollar mart thingies. Get the fake flowers. Clip all the flowers off with about an inch of wire.
Wire them to your plants as they grow.
Sometimes the best place to hide something is in plain site.
