Shit like this makes my future plans completely justified...

Florida businessman Mel Sembler, along with his wife Betty, have given 95%, $151,497, of the total funding to an anti-marijuana group called Smart Colorado who are against an amendment to legalize and regulate marijuana in the state of CO for people over 21;

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colorado_Amendment_64_(2012)

"Colorado Amendment 64 is an amendment to the Article 18 of the Colorado state constitution. Section 3 would allow the "personal use and regulation of marijuana" for adults 21 and over. Section 4 addresses legal commercial cultivation, manufacture, and sale. The intent is that marijuana be regulated in a manner similar to alcohol."

You want ppl to get enraged because this guy is putting money towards something he believes in..
You should probably watch that clip I posted in the OP before you make so many assumptions.

The situation is very similar to the private prison industry.

I wonder if good ol' Mel would still feel the same way if he didn't own and operate any "drug rehabilitation" centers...

Or maybe he truly believes marijuana to be a problem. Did you ever think of that possibility?

Watch the clip, that's not the reason

and even if it was, who the hell is Mel Sembler to tell anyone what to do with their own body?

He's free to believe whatever he want's, but he has the money behind him to ensure legal consequences for anyone who breaks drug laws and make a quick buck while he's doing it, and I don't think that's right.

What if I owned and operated a similar institution and America went back to the old prohibition days, think Mel would have something to say about that?

But with cannabis it's OK..

Not to mention the treatment of it's occupants and even people who don't use drugs at all had been sent there when they were still in operation.

Does he have the right to kidnap kids and throw money at politicians to ensure his little part in the drug war continues to fuel his business?

What about part 2 of that question?

And if I understand you correctly, you're saying he does have the right to kidnap kids as long as he can con their parents into believing his program is effective? Essentially conning them into believing a lie that is detrimental to their kids own health and well being? Did I read that right?

Yep, con means consent, and the parents either contact him, or are compelled to by the courts..
Does morality play a role in that type of decision, in your opinion?

What I mean by that is, pretend you're one of these kids fathers, your wife is a fanatical Christian, she believes his pot use is detrimental to his eventual savior or it might lead to unsavory behavior that could lead to immoral actions, of course leading to infinite torment.. What do you do, as his father? (and why?)

Respecting peoples right isn't a family tradition for the Sembler In May 1983, Straight, Inc was convicted of false imprisonment after being sued by then 20-year-old Fred Collins Jr, who alleged he had been held captive by the program against his will. The program was ordered to pay $40,000.00 in compensatory and $180,000 in punitive damages. In 1990, a jury awarded Karen Norton $721,000 in damages due to mistreatment by Straight. In 1982, while a patient in Straight's Florida facility, Norton alleged that staff members assaulted her, and denied her health care.
Also funding anti-marijuana group isn't the only way they find to manipulate the system as It has been suggested that licensing for Straight's Florida-based programs had been renewed under pressure from Sembler on state senators, the presence of former president George Dubya Bush little bro Jeb on Straight advisory board may have been helpful in that mater.

Mitt also doesn't believe in the scientific fact of the theory of evolution, loves rich people, and wants to boost military spending while cutting social programs..

Could you be any more fucking retarded of a person?
