Strains that don't need much sunlight

There are many ways to improve yield in shadier areas. laying down white material below the plants will reflect what is below the lower branches. Using a drip system to keep the paper drier will help.

I grew for 30+ years with good success. As prices decreased, I saw little need to expand my grows.

I think a lot of my posts are still floating around here. Some of you might find them interesting. I never got greedy. My garden produced 10-20 pounds each year.All good to great weed. My health is deteriorating. Fortunately my son and many old friends keep me well supplied.

Best of luck to everyone this year. Weed can survive extreme temperatures when well watered.(God I wish I could still grow. I was very good at it.)

I need to get the hell out of Alaska. Outdoor here is impossible without a greenhouse and light deprivation. You have to grow vegetables under a car shelter anymore because of climate change. More wet days causing a lot blossom end rot on squash or cukes. Frigging potatoes are about it without spending thousands for cover. I’m 71 and this winter those -40 temperatures sucked. And only because of climate change was it this warm. Here -55 to. -60 common and not that long ago.

New Mexico sounds good. Go back home. Corn, squash, watermelons, 14’ fucking sativas you get garbage bags of good bud from.

Mountain Mist... I vegged mine outside in shaded sunlight with only 3 hours of direct sunlight per day... Moved it inside under artificial light at 12:12 for the bloom phase... I got a 6 ft tall plant with over 30 18-in rockets

a cannabis plant only needs 5hrs of direct sunlight a day to grow properly, the plant will be smaller , but still grow to compleation, wether the wether causes you problems is another matter.

Tom hill said his Deep Chunk strain was a good performer out of direct sunlight.
He said he worked the strain outdoor in dappled light wooded areas so the crops wouldn’t be seen by the choppers.

As long as you have the right amount of total light hours for veg or bloom the direct sunlight hours can be lower. But sounds like you need bigger plants or more plants if you want more yield.

I think I also remember reading Timewarp was another strain that’s ok with lower light levels.
