Strains that grow well with only 4-5 hours of light

Hi

I only have about 4 or 5 light hours during the day where I live. I was wondering if I can grow or you can recommend any strain that grows well or does OK under only 4 1/2 hours of sun. 5 at best.

Or maybe I shouldn't? I grow indoors but would like to try outdoors next summer.

I'm confused. There's no place on the planet that never gets more than 4 or 5 hours of daylight in the summer. Unless you're talking about growing in the winter, in which case anyplace that far north would be too cold.

It's a balcony so I only get 4 or 5 hours of sun. No garden.

Ah, ok. Now I get it. Sorry. I was trying to figure out what latitude never saw more than 4 or 5 hours of light, and couldn't come up with anything.

I'm sorry, I couldn't give you a good answer. I think a lot of strains would still grow, because their metabolism is keyed off of available light, not necessarily direct sunlight. And I've had outdoor grows where the plant was shaded part of the day, and they still turned out OK, but they still had more light than that. I'm not sure how well something would do if it was in shade almost the whole day.

Hopefully someone will have some information, because now I'm curious too.

In order to maximize it's potential, marijuana needs a minimum of 6 to 7 hours of direct sunlight every day.
The more direct sunlight, the happier and more productive the plants will be.
You may want to consider moving the plants indoors(if feasible) under artificial light for part of the day in order to supplement the limited direct sunlight available.
