I just started a compost pile of all my used dirt and root balls and bigger leaves. I shouldn't be buying any in a while hopefully. I also use alot of my used soil in my gardens and flower beds(kinda spreadin the love around) At first I was buying a shit ton of smaller bags of amendments when I would need them, but now I go for the bigger bags and just store what I don't use for next time. Yes MUCH cheaper to buy that stuff in bulk. Thanks for the heads up though brother, nice to see someone take a little time to help his brother farmer. Little posts of info can sometimes make big differences. I was really just refering to initial costs really, I should have been more specific. I really don't want to turn anyone away from organic gardening it really is the way to go for flavor and smell, the terpenes are so much more alive it seems when grown the correct way organically. Not that there is a wrong organic way just different techniques get different results is all. It's hard to explain I guess but when you find out for yourself you'll know exactly what I'm trying to say. Good luck, Good grow, Be safe, out.

I have to say that reused soil really does bring out the flavor. First to second run, it's great , but now that I am on my 4th run in some of these buckets..these ladies are just juicin..

my pick for tastiest strains...that is a tough one. The taste has to linger and stick to your tongue for one-----I've tried hundreds of strains and grown maybe 30 or more


Grape Goo - Earthy, kushy, taco funk with grape undertones and a hint of purply.

Trainwreck -Can be really bad BUT depending on the cut-can be heavenly meaty -even had batches w 7-up type sweetness

Tahoe Og - Super frosty greasy fuely "sweet" kush smell..mmmm

Jamaican Red- Hashy, incense, skunky sweet, chill type bud

There's this strain from from down south called "Sugar Bung", It has the sweet urine smell of Ensenada~ mixed with the sweet dank of Cali.

Do you just keep feeding em' etc? because this theory is similar to hydro. Keep em' in a medium but keep feeding u know.

yah I guess it's basically permaculture, you just add re add enough amendments ( bone meal, alfalfa meal, fish meal, rock phosphate, etc, beneficial bacteria) sparingly through each cycle.

Cpl days after chop I just basically tear a hole out and stick a new clone or seedling in next to the old rootstock.

If I want to give my plants a boost I do 1/4 cup coconut water in a gal of water. Try it and see what you think!

I've been running this strain for years. I keep it around strictly because it has the most unique smell and taste. It tastes just like it smells. It's tough to describe, but it's kind of a floral/perfume note. The potency is just OK though.

Reading this thread I'm surprised nobody has mentioned proper flushing with regards to improving/bringing out the taste of the buds. A good flush can mean the difference from a nice clean tasting and smooth smoke as opposed to a chemmy, harsh, and/or dirty tasting medicine even if the plant was grown excellently.

On a side note, so far Qrazy Train has been the best smelling and tasting strain I have had the pleasure of enjoying. Absolutely amazing.

That is probably because most of us grow organic (since this is in organics) which you do not need to flush. If your growing with chemicals your flavor is compromised anyway but you should definitely flush. If you are growing organically there is really no need since you are feeding the soil microbes not the plant.
