Strange plant problem

oh one thing I have forgotten to tell you is that, when the plant had root rot, I removed all the bad roots and took the plant and washed the good roots with some soapy water and then rinsed with normal water and made sure the soap was gone. so this also means that when I put the plant back into the soil, the roots had to regrow back and refill the pot again.

If locked out it will show various sorts of deficiencies because it isn't getting any nutrients, and I don't see coco being very forgiving with ph and ppms lately. Maybe some coco experts can chime in.

"issue" = Lockout, he's likely locking out because his pH is too high

All things being equal; you're short on Mg. You can add Epsom Salt to fix this. As noted earlier, if you're using coco, you should manage the pH of your feed @ 5.8. Don't worry about the pH of your coco (medium); it's inert and it will take on the pH of whatever you're feeding. So pH your feed and the medium pH will follow. Also as noted earlier you should have the necessary equipment on hand in order to check the strength and pH of your feed, so you're not blindly adding this or that. Get a handle on your pH and PPM / EC, don't let your coco dry out and be patient. Good luck.

How can i get my hands on some Epsom Salts? Will I be able to find them at a pharmacy? Sorry its just kind of weird here in Israel. There is no such thing as Walmart where you can find everything u want in life aha.

Btw I was using slow release fertilizers that come with potting soil mixes that you would buy from a normal store. Basically something similar to miracle grow. Today I went to a hydroshop and bought a coco block some perlite and some BIOBIZZ liquid fertilizers. I got the BIO grow, BIO bloom, and the TOP Max as well. I have bought some insect sticky traps, neem oil spray 0.8%. Will I need anything else to make sure my plants are getting the right nutrients for each stage of their growth. I have removed all of the plants from the old potting soil and tried to save as much roots as possible and transplanted them all into new pots with coco, perlite, and fed them 1.5ml of BIO grow per liter of water.

Yes, you should be able to find Epsom Salts at a pharmacy. If you're just changing over on your nutrients, you should check to see how much Mg your new nutrients are offering before adding Epsom...more is not always better.

Thanks! okay, looks like the main problem here was the PH I believe, my tap water's ph is too high around 7.6. I will be making the correct changes to my water and will keep you guys updated. I have removed the old yellow leaves as they became too dry and started falling on their own. BTW I do have a reverse osmosis filtration system in my home. Would it be better for me to water using that type of water since the PH from it would be much lower already? Thanks a lot!

It would be better for you to use RO water cos you can control what you put in it. I got a RO system put in especially for growing. The only thing is you need to supplement cal/mag more than usual.

Yep that is what I'm going now thanks a lot. Btw the epsom salts have helped and the adjustment of the ph ( I tested the ph it is now at 5.6) seemed to have halted the yellowing of the leaves. I did remove all the yellow leaves 2 days ago and everything else is still green now.

Mine comes out of the faucet at 8.9 LOL

..it's best to adjust everything that you pour on your plant in soil to 6.5

if you have large containers, say 7 - 10 gallon, then maybe you don't need to adjust pH, but anything smaller than that I highly recommend steady 6.5 for best results, good luck Orange

What I use for my feed is BIO Grow which has an NPK of 4-3-6. I also have added some Epsom salts to my plants, 1 tsp per 2 liter. I'm growing in Coco Perlite.
