I have Stray‘s cut of Carbon killerz. Just taking the cuts off of the mother. This one supposed to be special. Hoping to put it into the skunk contest!View attachment 5365558Carbon Killerz is very very stinky
why not take clones? you can do that *and* hunt the rest of the packThe first two pictures show the similar ones (on the left) the last two pictures show the lone one. Notice the 3 blade leaves?View attachment 5383658View attachment 5383659View attachment 5383660View attachment 5383661
Hey sadboy92, I guess the reason is having too many plants and spending time to clone plants that aren’t very good. I also haven’t cloned anything ever. I made a five site aero cloner, and bought some 3% food grade peroxide. I read a good thread about it also. But I think you’re right, it’s probably time to, because I spend $50? on a pack of seeds it seems a waste not to. I’ll go back and look for that sensi star post. Thankswhy not take clones? you can do that *and* hunt the rest of the pack
also there is a Sensi Star x NL5 ("Northern Sensemilla") grow a few pages back in this thread
I'd guess anything Stray makes with sensi star turns out great
Just want to let you know, the fact that Stray ran out of them does not mean they’re not of great quality. He tends to make smaller batches than a lot of other breeders. And sometimes you only get 10 or 20 packs out of a smaller plant. I would take a clone. You might find something really special and wish you would’ve. Thanks.DBJHey Strayfox growers, I found three girls in my pack of Vintage Sensi Star x Vintage Afghani. They have been vegging a long time. Anyone grow those out? Two look similar but one grows slow and short and the other fast and tall. The tall smells skunky in veg. The others don’t. I accidentally got the two similar ones to flower by switching my light hours from 15 to 14. I don’t think they stretch. I switched back the hours to 17.5 . They look really dark w/o the light. I want to clone but I have more seeds? Strayfox ran out of these seeds maybe they aren’t very good? I have a cloner built and all but it would be my first time. I thought to clone the skunky and the bigger one but I’m kind of on the fence and low on herb.
Perhaps a good time to practice cloning then. And you don't have to be successful or even keep clones if you decide you don't want. But I agree with Bad Dawg/DBJ that you might find something special.Hey sadboy92, I guess the reason is having too many plants and spending time to clone plants that aren’t very good. Hey Bad Dawg, I have a question about making seeds. I am new to making them (Organically). I used a Starfighter female (Bad Dawg) and a Durban Acapulco male (Hawaiian breeder). The pollen was yellow and applied with a paint brush. The white pollen I used in the beginning didn’t pollinate so I lost about 5 days of time. I know to pollinate early in flower so seeds mature. My question is; I had a bunch of aborts when I germinated the seeds, probably half. 12/24 The seeds appeared mature. Are aborts a sign of weak genetics? Does a brush damage pollen? Why some pollen is white and some yellowish? I appreciate any help.Just want to let you know, the fact that Stray ran out of them does not mean they’re not of great quality. Using a brush to apply the pylon definitely works fine. I do it all the time when I have a limited amount of pollen. But I prefer to have me a great big old fat male plant . But I am normally also pollinating 10 to 20 plants at a time.Hey Bad Dawg, I have a question about making seeds. I am new to making them (Organically). I did some internet research, some people were saying that the Durban Poison seeds they had/ had a lot of aborts also? I swear about 13 aborted and 11 grew. 9 were tall like Durban and 2 were short like Starfighter. I pulled the 2.Using a brush to apply the pylon definitely works fine. Not sure what you mean by white pollen versus yellow pollen. Were they both from the same plant? And is it possible the first amount of pollen you put on was good and those are the seeds that got very ripe?
And I normally pollinate somewheres around 2 to 3 weeks after putting into flower.
But some plants are ready a lot sooner than others. For example, The White (clone) makes great seeds but you have to pollinate it at two weeks old or they won’t ripen. But the white is the first thing to ripen in my garden. Indoors or out.
I tried to let the buds on the top of the plants get to be the size of the tip of my little finger.
That normally gets me a pretty good size batch of seeds, and also lets them ripen well.
Hope that helps. BD
