Strip a male?

hey all-i'm new and this is my first grow. i had someone give me some advice about an indoor grow and i'm not sure if it's good advice or not. i've done alot of searching on here and i don't think this ? has been asked yet.

i''ve started from seeds and don't know the sex. he said that if you get males, keep only one of them in the room with your females to discourage self-pollination of the females. BUT he said to strip off all the pods, and leave only one or two leaves. it will take another month or so for everything to grow back, then you repeat. this is supposed to trick the females into thinking there's a male nearby to pollinate them, even though he's stripped and cannot pollinate them. seems logical enough, but what do you all think? thanks! :-P

Sounds like you might get seeds.You don't need a male to get a sensimilla crop.Just good genetics meaning no hermies,and definitely no males.

Amazing the advice you can find if you look hard enough.

thats not true at all. females turn hermie because they havent been pollinated yet and so in a last ditch effort to continue the species existence it'll make non-functioning male flowers. dont leave a boy in with em, its only takes 1 missed male pollen sack to ruin your crop......

there is a grain of salt to what you were told...but you generally DO NOT want males in with your girls, as it was said, 1 missed pollen sac and your crop i pretty much good for hash and that's it. There was some research done regarding males and female plants and that the presence of a male near it indicated the female went through less environmental stresses or some shit like that.. but I still wouldn't do it.

thanks all for the fast and straightforward answers! maybe that advice came from what Cowell was referring to? i don't know but i'm glad i asked for other opinions!

Yeah I'd slay any male at the first sign of balls, we have a rule in our home, no nuts but my nuts LOL

I hear loads of "fiends" giving me all kinds of great advise...... if i want a shitty crop, that's why I listen to my friends here.

Also it's a better rule not to let anyone know your growing... Thats another topic in itself tho.

ohh she is soo smart huh? good thing I knew way better than that.

Speaking of did you all know the singer Lady Ga Ga is really lady guy guy, she is a hermi as well¿LOL

yeah some people want to claim they know what they are doing but really don't. me i admit i don't, & i just wanna learn! :mrgreen:

no i don't make it a practice to tell people about it. this person may be dumb but he does understand the importance of the dl. i also have my medical card. but yeah, gotta think about thieves too.
