Well I tried to find the info by searching the forums but get no results. So, here's a question for ya: When do you start counting the number of days in flower? Is it at the switch to 12/12 or the first sign of flowers? Just curious.
 
when you switch to 12/12.. i guess some people say from seed its the other way.. i use clones and its to the day as i definately do count every damn time.. i hate the wait

For the most part the "switch" is the time to start counting. But a 12$ mini microscope from radio shack tells the real truth.
 
I'd say count from when flowers form unless its preflowered then i'd count when the hairs at least start at each node, cause especially when u start from seed u can get a few weeks until the flowering begins
 
Switching from your 18/6 or 24/0 or w/e to 12/12 is considering switching to flowering. So, I'd count from there.

Exactly. They (most strains) usually take a couple of weeks to show the flowers, then those flowers grow for another 4 weeks, THEN they start to really ripen and become delicious for the final 2 weeks, which is a total of 8 weeks, this is (give or take) when most strains finish.

START THE COUNTDOWN AS SOON AS YOU CUT THE LIGHTS! then look at the trichromes under a 30x or better microscope to make sure it's time. And like I said before, these microscopes are cheap and easy to find.
 
I don't know if any Radioshacks exist in VC. I know they have 'em tho. They're easy to find online. I've seen a couple of random smoke shops have 'em. That's all in the states tho.
 
Yeah, I'm not planning to harvest at a specific day. Going to let the plant tell me when it's ready. I just wanted a guideline for keeping track of how many days it took.
 
I had some of those 3 lens glasses that I used on my last grow but seem to have misplaced them. go figure. Luckily I live about 2 miles from one. But, i still have several weeks to go before I even start looking at the trichs. They just showed flowers a couple of days ago after about 2 weeks of darkness.
