Good day, fellow RIU'ers! My outdoor season here in beautiful sunny Mendocino County is in full effect so I had to start a thread to document my progress this year. Follow along with me and enjoy watching my plants blow up!

The Place - Im gowing in the back yard of my home in beautiful Northern California. This is a legal medical grow and it is (I think) my 6th year growing outdoor at this location. I say this every year, but THIS season is really shaping up to be my best grow ever lol.

The Plants - As far as plants/strains go, this year I had an enormous group to choose from. I kept a number of strains from last year going all year. That, along with the combined greenhouses/indoor rooms of all my friends, made for some pretty good choices. And even though I ALWAYS say I'm only going to run 2 or 3 strains, I ALWAYS end up doing like ten...and this year is no different! I currently have about 35 plants. Over the next few weeks, some of those will be given away and some will be culled. I always aim to have 20-25 plants, but I may end up with 25-30 this year. I have: Purple Kush, Maui, Sour Diesel, Purple Diesel, Skywalker OG, Querkle, Devilberry x JillyBean, and Purple Gorilla. The PK was given to me by a friend who grows it indoor, the Maui is a local legend and staple crop, Sour D I got at a local club, Purple D also from a dispensary, the Skywalker OG was gifted to me from a friend in Humboldt, the Querkle and DVB x JB I procured last year, and the Purp Gorilla was a gift from my neighbor.

The Plan - There are 17 plants in the ground and a number of extras in containers anywhere from 5-35 Gal. They are all in a pretty basic soil mix that I almost always use. It consists basically of a base of Fox Farms Happy Frog soil amended with trace minerals, blood meal, bone meal, perlite, composted manure, worm castings, and a mycohrrizae blend. I hope to pull ten or twelve pounds from the plants in the ground and another 4 or 5 from the plants in containers. While I do think those numbers are pretty modest and easily achievable, I'll try not to count my chickens before they hatch ;)

Anyway, thats whats up with me this Summer. I'll be pretty busy growing my crop and also helping friends so I may not be able to update as regularly as I'd like, but ill do my best! If you have any comments or questions, feel free to ask! If my grow looks like shit, let me know what I can do better. If my grow looks badass, tell me...I can always use the kudos for motivation :) I am also going to try to put a few pictures of my friends's crops as I see fit (guys grow MONSTERS - my plants look like bonsais next to theirs lol). Well I'm off to grow some pot, have a great day RIU and keep on growin!

Since I literally stole my Wife's garden area from her to grow 6 Purple Diesel plants there, I had to build her a planter box in which she could grow her fruits and veggies...So I thought I'd put some pics of it :) Theres also a picture of my puppy, Sophie, and a stern reminder of what happens to people who trespass in my crop. Just kidding, that's just a styrofoam skeleton from Halloween that we named Santiago. He watches the plants while I'm gone. Oh and also I put a risky picture of me amongst my plants. At least I'm covering my face! Lol I'm high enjoy the pics and have an awesome day yall!

What's happening everybody? Tomorrow morning I'm going to be taking some clones from the strains that look like winners so far, and then giving everything a good heavy feeding. Up until this point, I haven't really fed them any NPK... just molasses, root exceluator and humics/fulvics. They've been living just on the nutrients in my bomb amended soil ;) So bright and early I'm gonna do a nitrogen guano top dressing and soak it in with a tea I made with EWC, fish emulsion, kelp, composted manure, a little soil from my garden, maybe a little epsom salt and molasses. I might also add a few ounces of Age Old Grow to it just to really juice 'em. It's not the ideal way to make tea, as I don't have an air pump and air stones yet, so I just stirred it a few times an hour for about 15 hours now. By morning it'll be about 24 hours old and should have some good little critters multiplying in there :) I'll take some pictures then and show the insane progress these babies are making! I swear some of them grow 2-3 inches every day in all directions lol.

Anyway, until then I've decided to put up some older but cool/interesting pics I found going through my RIU upload folder lol. Enjoy!

Thanks man! Well yeah it always makes me kinda nervous when I have more than 25 around, but in reality I know its not a big deal at all. My neighbor just a block away had the cops called by someone he was beefing with...anyway the MC Sherriffs showed up and he had like 35 plants. They told him he was over limit and was to remove the extra plants by the time they returned in two days. Well, three days later they showed up and this slacker STILL hadn't removed the extras. The cops gave him another two days if you can beleive that! They came back, he had removed the ones over 25, they shook his hand and left. Seriously unless you grow more than 100, you grow near a church or a school, or you piss off the feds, the chances you will get busted in Mendo for a personal backyard grow w/ a doctor's rec are almost exactly 1 in a buckzillion.

And wait till I put pics tomorrow...I cleaned the yard and cut down all the weeds and dead grass it looks so legit!

So I was hella busy yesterday and I didn't have time to take pictures and put them up. Well better late than never I always say. Here's some pictures from this morning.

The lighter colored ones are obviously the ones that get light depped. So I took some indiviual shots to show off some Summer buds :eyesmoke:
