Subcool Supersoil question.

Getting ready to mix up my first batch of super soil. I looked at subs list of ingredients I noticed the NPK ratio of his ingredients are little different then the ones I picked up, I can still return them and get the right things if I need to or if you guys think it would be better.
Subs list NPK ratio; Blood meal 12-0-0, Bat Guano 0-5-0, Fish Bone Meal 3-16-0
The stuff I picked up; Blood meal 3-15-0, Bat Guano 0-10-0, Fish Bone Meal 10-4-0
I'm not really worried about the Bat Guano, But the Blood meal & Fish bone Meal do. Idk what do you guys think?
Maybe the nitrogen can come from the fish bone meal instead of the blood meal & the blood meal can provide the phosphorous?

Also when cooking are you supposed to stir it every couple days or leave it?

Those numbers you posted are a little wonky. You sure you didn't get them mixed up? Blood meal will always be HIGH in N with very little P or K (similar to the 10-4-0 you listed, but all the blood meal I've seen has been 12-0-0). Fish bone meal will always be HIGH in P with a little N and little to no K (like the 3-15-0 you listed). Guano (depending on the type of bat) will be either very high in N (insect eating bats), or very high in P (fruit eating bats). The 0-10-0 you listed sounds typical of a high P guano, which is what you want.

It sounds like you have the right stuff but something got lost in translation...

I agree, those numbers dont sound right I would recheck the label. If the numbers you stated are right I would return them and get something closer to the recipe. I am sure you could get away with using them, but not worth it IMO.

Fish meal is not fish BONE meal. It's when the whole fish is ground up, the resulting product has much more nitrogen. And that "Bone Meal" you posted is not fish bone, it's likely some blend of cow/pig bones.

I think you are still a little mixed up on the names and NPKs...

Yeah looks like I picked up the wrong things. I'm going to swap them out.

Don't mean to hijack but can't find general supersoil question thread...

Can I overcook supersoil? getting ready to mix a batch up wanted to mix up enough for the whole year or more? Is it fine if it sits in container for 12-14 months if I keep mixing it every so often?

The answer is NO. You however can store it wrong. Keep it out of excessive heat or direct sunlight and don't keep it too moist. No need to mix every so often this will just disrupt the mycelium in the soil that is doing the "cooking". Just mix it really well before storing then what I do it empty one trash can into my "indoor only can" thus mixing it right before I use it.

Thanks for the info. Have only used liquid ferts. Wanted to see what all the hype was about. And save loads of money at the same time.
