Subcoos super soil... Please help Confused

ll here is my issue.. The article by him reads "Start with high quality organic soil... Soil without the additives" Then directly below that he suggests a soil with about 10-15 different things in it I.E. Coco fibers, Alaskan peat moss etc..

Later in the article it says to use this soil in the bottom 1/4-3/4 of the pot

Here are my questions...

1) Is he saying that if you have this "high quality soil" available no need to use his mix?
2) If you need the good soil as he suggests why does he say no additives but then lists all sorts of items that are in the soil?
3)if you are putting this in say the bottom 1/2 of the pot what goes on top? do i need to buy more than the 8 bags he lists to start with and just use plain soil on top?

Maybe I am not reading in to is as I should but I have had 3 people read it and they are as confused as I am
Thanks in advance

believe he means no nutrient additives, as some soils do. (fox farm soils include guano, etc in them)
you want just a clean base, generally without any of the things you are adding into the super soil mix

you want to fill the bottom with the super soil, then fill the rest with your base soil.

I think I can help "High quality soil organic" means not Scotts, Schultz or Miracle Grow. All name brand soils contain salt based fretilzers and wetting agents. These things are bad. Find a good fully organic potting soil, spend the money needed usually costing about $20.00 a large bag. This will be considered your base soil. follow his directions to the letter the things you add to the base soil are also organic. Remember in the end you will have a medium that only needs water. After you let it sit in a closed Barrel drum for the amount of time he reccomends I think it 30 days, your ready to start putting your pots together. The fermented mix is only put in the bottom of the pot because the young plants will die if planted directly into it. It's to hot for veg but great for bloom. The base soil right out of the bag is then put on top of the bloom soil. Plant your cuttings and as they veg the roots will grow in the base soil first and as the roots grow down into the soil the plant is older and is now ready to handle the bloom soil in the bottom. Again this method requires no nutes added to the water ever. There is a great video out showing the process I try and post a link if I can find it.

Guano is organic!

You mix the super soil separately then buy your other base soil. Roots etc.... And that's what you use for the top portion of the pot. The method behind the madness is that any seedling or clone that does not have a established root system will easily burn from the super soil. So to prevent that and to allow the root system to grow big enough to handle nutrient rich soils you fill the top with roots or another organic soil. Look at it this way the soil you use on the upper half is like a mixed drink. That mixed drink is not very strong, on the other hand the super soil is like a tall glass full of liquor with no mixer. Your not going to give the pure liquor to someone who has not even experienced a shot. So you let them start with the mixed drink and after a while they will build up a tollerance and be able to handle more liquor. Eventually working themselves up to handling a tall glass of pure liquor.

If you just used the soil available to you at the store with no super soil you would eventually need to feed your plant since the super soil is not there to give nutrients.

Click on the High Times link I provided above, the recipe is right there. With a little research you can find folks who have scaled down the recipe for smaller batches.

certain assumptions are made by the people at Subcool. One is a high quality organic soil is balancd to begin with. most I have seen do list the major ingredients and somtimes there amounts. I hope this helps!

Just wait for the new soils coming from subcool and dioxide. They will have a base soil, with beneficial bacteria, coir, worm cast, peat moss, cant remember eveerything.
then if i understood correctly, there will be a pre-mixed packet of the contents needed to make a super soil, just add to your base, and there you go.

then they will have a pre-mixed, bagged super soil, all ready to go. just need the base to properly fill your bag/container, to the right proportions.

Did you have trouble sharing your toys when you were young?

Caregiver laws prevent you from having too many patients, this takes most of competition out of the equation. If your shit's any good cool, you'll keep your exsisting patients. There is room for everyone in this community. Imagine how long Subcool would be in business if you were their only customer. This site is dedicated to sharing advice an knowledge, not hoarding it all for yourself!

P.S. Subcool keep testing right can't be rushed.

This is exactly why I never post of this forum ... Always somebody to come along and rock the boat with their 2 cents... Not one to be baited into an argument I havent alot of time on my hands unlike some people but fuck it this pissed me off. #1 I said i would love a pre-mix. The convenience would outweigh any other issues I'm not worried about everyone else using it that was more of a joke. Most of yall on here add shit to the recipe, take away, or otherwise alter it anyhow. It also takes a certain skill set and experience level to grow multiple strains with this method. There are alot more variables in medical cannabis gardening than supersoil. So go talk that shit to the 50 guys that ask if they should "put holes in the bottom of the trashcan, cure the soil, and can I use it in a 1 gallon pot?" Leave my posts alone if you dont like it. By the way medical cannibas is a business. Yes I care about patients without them there would be no caregivers but at the end of the day most of us dont get into caregiving unless it benefits economically. People can talk all the hippie shit they want about sharing and caring but I have yet to see anybody charge at cost donations on top shelf meds. And before you say "Oh sub gives his away" yeah he's not a caregiver he's a breeder. Thats like saying a publisher is an author. Anyway I'm sure this comment will generate everyone else's opinion oh well i had to get it out there I was trying to write a little post about how good sub's genius is and how people in my area are oblivious when i talk about his methods and gear. But hey RIU peace and pot good luck

Back to Super Soil.........
Appreciate Sub wanting to confirm by personally running this Super Soil package before putting his name on it.
Here is a question Sub, are you also asking any of your TGA assoc. or testers to run the same soil package?
Or to just use the Amendment Pack Dioxide & supplier put together with their own base to also confirm results?
Curious if more data points would be helpful in getting at least the Amendment pack to market sooner.
I am sure a bunch of us would jump on that (especially knowing it came from TGA) & demand our local grow supplier stock it or order from suppliers up your way.
That way we could add it with the base of our choice until your base tests out & hits the market.
Just a thought........
