I love Osh, but it's such a West Coast thing. Until a few years ago, they kept a complete selection of farrier's consumables. cn

Unfortunately I've never seen the Espoma brand. I just gave my plants a higher-than-usual dose feeding. I'll drop by home depot sometime this week and pick up some bloodmeal/fish emulsion :)
I'll keep you guys posted!
Also look at the ready-mades. If you find a mix that isn't timed-release and has good ratios, consider it. Jmo. cn

Don't forget to look out for kelp. Fish and blood mainly provide N and a little P but very little K, where kelp will give you a K boost, getting you towards that 3:1:2 ratio that CN mentioned. Fingers crossed the plants recover...

Edit: If you decide to go organic that is. Chemicals will be faster acting. The benefit of using organic tea is that it becomes much harder to overfeed. Whatever works best for you.

yeah, i was going to tell you quit simply, your plants are starving, they never had a salt build up and they don't 'eat themselves' as the one dude keeps suggesting. if you have a armstrongs or other type of nursery, find some jack's classic 20-20-20 all purpose or get it online. it will ph your water to 6.5 automatically and give all the needed nutes.

I just typed in the zip code I used to live in when I stayed on the east coast and like 15 dealers popped up

This is on their website "Espoma Plant Foods are generally found at fine garden centers throughout the eastern United States."

your plants have shown a deficiency from the start..."using 1/2 strength once a week".. would not have caused a salt build up in soil...flushing was not needed. more food yes!
your plants have been deficient in nutrients, as already stated...you need to up feedings to full strength now that your plants are bigger... and they need it asap they are very hungry...also may need better nutrients imo.

ph for soil should be about 6.5 which i always check my water/food solution...and adjust accordingly. ;)

Sorry ... I meant fertilizer. "Nutes" in universal indoor gardener speak. ;) cn
No need to apologize :P It was the terms slow release and ratios that threw me off and wasn't sure if you were referring to medium or nutes!

Thanks Jpeg for the deal locator, I will have a look at that now!

Do you guys have any experience with plant prod, they seem to have a good variety of water soluble nutes (with micronutrients). I saw on a forum a while ago that someone used it without any problems for their plants.
I ask because I know this is readily available to me and I can find it almost anywhere :)

Thanks for all the input guys, i sincerely appreciate all the help!

sweet the guy that offered no help is finally leaving....
In all fairness, he did offer some advice, Jack's Classic 20-20-20. It would not be my choice ... partly because of my dislike of urea nitrogen, but mostly because of the ratio. cn
