it is true, just search co2 tags.. or co2 shoot Im high and cant remember like a tutorial on making one...anyhoo take a waterbottle fill half way with water add yeast and sugar. Take the waterbottle lid and heat up like a nail or a needle and poke a hole in the lid. Put lid on put finger over hole, shake bottle consistently over a 48 period, bubbles produced by shaking=co2. you have to research though...Co2 is a central process of growth for the plant but Im not telling you why cuz i really want you to look....

LOL you do not have to shake them to get C02. Shaking them helps keep the yeast and sugar mix mixxed, shaking just releases a quick burst of C02. The fermentaion is what is causing the C02 as the yeast eats the sugar releasing both C02 and alcohol. They are constantly releasing C02.
Here is a tip get a air tube from a fish store and place in the bottle ( through the cap)and make an airtight seal around the tube. Now place the other end over your ladies or near the rear of a fan that is blowing on your plants. This allows you to keep these nasty bottles out of your grow and also seals them to discourage bugs moving into your grow room.

I actually took a 5 gallon bucket, drilled about (10) small holes in the lid, glued 1/4" airline connectors to the lid and then connected (10) 1/4" hoses about 8' long and draped them throughout the plants. I dump in 2 1/2 gallons of water, 5lb of sugar and a packet of yeast. This will produce CO2 for a little more than a week. If you're a hydro grower Do NOT let any of the liquid get near the rez!

i used 2 liter soda bottles, i made 3 of them cause 1 is not enough. add like 2 cups of sugar and a packet of yeast. then fill half way with water. put the top on tight and leave over night. then just unscrew the cap slowy but not all the way just let the gas leak out slowly,close to the plants. they last about a week or so. Keep shaking them and take the top off to let out small bursts of co2 . Co2 to plants is like oxygen to humans.

Is it bad to have an open container in the box with your ganja? If so, why? Are any other harmful chemicals produced by the yeast?

no it isnt bad and it doesnt make any harmfull chemicals. It is better to have the container closed so that the amount of c02 is higher and then release it like every day

Be careful if you put too much sugar in the shit will bubble up to the point where its overflowing out the bottle. It will take a minute to get to that point so if u leave the room you may come back to a huge mess
Also put some oatmeal or something in the mix so the yeast has food. The sugar doesnt feed it really and it needs some real food to stay alive. You can keep the same mix going a long time just add more food and fresh water to keep the alcohol level from getting too high and killing the yeast. U can also add a bit of the mix to a fresh bottle to start a new bottle

As often as possible shake the container to blend the mixture thoroughly. In one or two days the yeast will grow and co2 will be a by-product in the container. Now, every time you shake it a burst of co2 will be released into the grow room. Also it will continue to be released through the hole in the lid while you are away. You'll have to change the mixture once every 2-3 weeks.

I used to use the "water + sugar + yeast" method to create co2, but I had to constantly add more sugar or yeast, and shake it up twice a day....
So Ive found a better way.... Now, I am my own brewmaster!! Yep, the fermentation process creates co2, and I dont have to shake or add anything like I used to. And, I get something to drink when its done

this is what im looking for. does this work it seems so simple. is it important to " leave over night. then just unscrew the cap slowy but not all the way just let the gas leak out slowly,close to the plants."
because i did the same process and its fermenting or whatever BUBBLES with the lid off the soda bottle completely. do i really need to let it sit and unscew slightly?
