Suggestion on best CFL strains?

I was just wondering if any of you that have done multiple grows under CFL's only had any recommendations on strains that produce good under them, please provide the strain name and seed bank.

I'd like to order a few single seeds and just hope that they germ, but I usually have no problems with that process.

(I am currently using 7 bulbs 23-26 watt and have 5 of each 2700k and 6500k and will probably add more as I grow)

I Have had good success with Purple Urkle and just about any skunk cross you can get from nirvana.

i would check nirvana for any strain they suggest for indoor. any you choose would do well with enough cfl's you could get technical and try for a sativa dominant focusing on the greater internode spacing for the simple purpose of light penetration. but any strain you grow with cfl's, penetration will be an issue, nothing side placement of lighting wont fix. goodluck with it

Glad I got 2 replies so quickly, but yeah I planned on having 3-6 bulbs on 3 of the walls and 2-4 on the top of the plant, I don't think I am going to top at all and probably no LST just one fat main cola. But I won't be able to have a separate area to keep a mother so I won't be able to have clones unless I can get a buddy to hold on to a mother plant for me.

I am really trying for something that will produce quality over quantity but prefer something in the middle. Sorry for these questions but I have tried using search with at least 20 different ways of phrasing CFL, Stains, Best and can't really find anything that really nails down any specific strains to use.

The Cristal Storm (Auto) by Samsara Seeds (the attitude) will grow well under CFL's...the sweet dwarf (also auto, from the attitude) has one big fat cola if grown right and i've read it does very well with cfl's

I'm not sure there is a simple answer to your question. There are so many factors which will influence the outcome of your grow, but I'm convinced that if you carefully manage it you'll have decent results with any strain.

What are the dimensions of your box? Pick a strain that will comfortably fit in the space you have available, apply good bulb placement around the box, LST your plant(s) to maximise the amount of light the plant receives, don't over/under nute/water your plant, keep your eye on temps, etc. and you'll be fine. Most strains will thrive under good management.

Grab some feminised seeds from a reputable seed bank and germ away. I've seen awesome results with so many strains under CFLs on this forum that there isn't a clear winner - just grow what you want to grow. Good luck.

Just saw your signature and checked your journal. Yeah, with a PC grow I would go for a dwarf - a decent autoflowering strain. Have you thought about a ScrOG?

Not doing the PC thing anymore, temps were way too hot, just using my closet right now with the door open during lights on and a box fan as a forced intake (it keeps temps lower as an intake over outtake). The plant has about a 1.5' by 2' area to grow but the whole closet is probably something like 2.5'x2.5'.

isnt it funny how when you ask a specific question people want to critique your op? I am growing Wonder Woman and Venus Fly Trap from Nirvana right now. I have them under big 250w cfls but the mothers started under t12 fluoros and 2 x 27 watt 5000k CFLs. They Thrivered under these low wattage cfls and the clones of them are doing extremely well under the large ones. I have yet to flower anything yet but I will let you know in a couple months how it comes out

Yea that is one great thing about this site is that we are all here for each other to help along with our hobby I love it!!! THaught i knew alot until i came on here and have learned that there is so much more for me to learn . My grows have improved dramaticaly since i came on here Good luck bud PEACE THE SIZZLER
