Suggestions for a good pH reader?

Hi everyone,

I was just wondering- what pH meter do you have? The one I have sucks and I can’t find a decent one that can measure soil and water.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Most reliable ones around.

Apera has the bonus of changing tip once it's starts to give you varying readings.

Cheap ones work for a short time, give varying readings and takes for ever to read.

Most good ph pens last 6months to a year.

It depends on your preference, i got sick of buying ph pens so i got some GH ph drops, once you get used to using them they are great and cost around £5/$7. if you want to know the ph of your soil you just measure the ph of your run off :bigjoint:

For soil and water the bluelab soil pen and the Apera ph60S (S = spear probe). They work on liquids and soils.

Always store with the probe clean and in the KCl storage solution, poke holes in soil with a tool or the probe cap for the bluelab then gently insert the probe.
