Ok here's a brief update of where things stand right now.
I've seeded days apart in Rockwell over perlite in a domed propagator for about 8 days depending on seedlings. The strains are 3x Sleeskunk, 2x White Widow (f) and 2x Delahaze (f). So far so good as far as germination rate, aside from a Widow seed that just melted within a couple days (surely a mistake of mine).
I've tranplanted the 3x Sleeskunk and 1x W. Widow in 10x10x17cm pots with Biomix Light soil (I also got a bag of Plagron Growmix for re-potting). As of right now, just waiting for more pots of the same size to transplant the 2x Delahaze and a decent fan.
The plan so far is to grow this as mother plants, unless the three Sleeskunk turn out to be males, and keep them short in a bonsai fashion so I can hold at least four in the small Mother Room I've built, which is only 60x30x75cm. They stretched quite a bit so I buried them deep enough in the pots to keep heights manageable and induce stronger root mass (I think).
In such a small space, even the 125W CFL warms up the "room" by at least 2/3ºC. I hooked a 10cm duct fan on one side to exhaust the warm air and cut a 125cm intake on the opposite lower side where the fan is pulling cool air in. I haven't bothered too much with light proofing at this point since it's often required to leave at least one door semi-open while the light is on, to keep the tº at 25ºc. The cabinet is in a living room right now where the tº reaches 26º at time, so it's a good idea to check the environment tº during each seasons to adjust the climate control of your grow room accordingly.
At this point, the plants didn't receive any nutrients. The leafs are deep green and plants look healthy, so no need to push them. Once the 2x Delahaze are transplanted (hopefully by tomorrow) I will wait for them to stabilize and grow a few more nods before starting to feed them all a half-strength or even quarter-strength solution.
After that, waiting time oblige before taking cuttings and sexing the Sleeskunks. I was wondering if 1 or 2 26W CFL per plant would do the job for sexing cuttings?
