This is my 2nd try at my first grow. I didnt read enough and didnt get all the things i needed and the first one died before it had 2 sets of leaves.
Anyway, Here is the new plan on trying it again. Let me know if the plan i have is good or any suggestions on how to make it better.
I only have a budget of $40-$50. I already have my lights and stuff.
I will only be growing 1 plant.
Growing in a closet on top of a 3 ft tall water heater.
The temp stays around 78 to 83 F with lights on.
Will have a oscillating fan on it after the seedling pops.
Lights are two 23 watt 6500K CFL for veg and two 20 watt 2700k CFL for flower (may get 23 watt later).
The soil will be a 1 to 1 mix of FF ocean forest and Earth Gro Potting soil. The earth gro doesn't really say whats in it or NPK values but it says this on the bag "This product is regionally formulated from organic materials (primarily derived from one or more of the following: hypnum peat, forest products or compost), sand, perlite and a wetting agent." It was only $4. There are leaves compost in it. I have seen other people adding lime to earth gro soil but im thinking the FF soil will take care of that. Although im not really sure about the 1 to 1 ratio on the mix so i need suggestions on that.
The nutes i will be using is Dyna-Gro 7-9-5 Liquid Grow Plant Food for veg and Dyna-Gro 3-12-6 Liquid Bloom Plant Food for flower. Ill start out at 1/4 strength at first then work up if needed. Some people say feed every other watering but should i feed with every watering or what?
I will germinate the seed by soaking 24 hrs in water then plant it in the above mentioned soil in a 32 oz Styrofoam cup then when i get 2 or 3 sets of leaves ill transplant to the big pot with like 3 gallons or so of soil.
Ive read much conflicting advice as to use 18/6 or 24 hrs after the seedling pops so tell me what you think is best.
I have read that when using FF straight that you dont start nutes until after 1 month of growth but since im mixing it should i still wait that long or should i start them at 2 or 3 weeks?
I think im may use distilled water. I could test my tap water with ph test strips but people say they are not accurate. It would be cheaper to use tap water so should i just test it with the strips and be ok if the PH is good?
Thanx in advance for any suggestions.
