can i put a plant in vegetative growth under the sun when its a sunny day and leave it under the cfls inside when the sun isnt out because i read on this site the sun has 10,000 lumens and my lights only have about 2,000.
 
it would probly be best to eleav it under the cfl dude as thats going to be most of its life and plus take in to account the temp outside in all be best to leav in ur growroom dude in my opoion anyway ... what you growing and in what way like hydro soil ect and lights ect an strain and have you any pics .. good luck dude

The best thing you can do for your plant is to give it direct sunlight.

Sunlight is the best light source for all plants. I have read that if yu grow indoors and can give your plants at least 4 hours of sunlight everyday. It will greatly help your plant out.

On my first grow that was what I did and it was amazing what just 4 hours did for the plants.

But remember you must still keep them under the cfl to extend the veg light cycle for your plant
 
im just growing using miracle grow, regular waterings, 3 13 watt cfls, about 1 and a half weeks old (sorry no pics). i think ill take your advice keico and put them in the sun in a couple weeks once it warms up thanks!
 
It's best to put them in a window if you can and not outside. When outside they can pick up unwanted bugs and bring them inside. And they love it inside. Always warm, plenty of food. They thrive.
 
Its good as far as your plant getting more light but the constant switching of lumens and the change in Kelvins will certainly stress out the plant.. Will it stress it enough to lower Yeild???? Not sure, but possibly. Just watch out for stress.
