This is more-or-less correct. Yes, it will work, but major emphasis will be put on stem growth, which contains trace (under 1%) amounts of THC. If you're really on that much of a budget, go into a hardware store and buy some CFL's; you can easily use them in a home lamp, and CFL fixtures are cheap as hell anyway. For one plant, we're talking a maximum $20 investment.
PS- I discovered that, if otherwise cared for properly, a luminescent bulb can actually be efficient for veg, particularly when they're just coming up from being seedlings, but they're useless beyond that point.

what are you all talking about? and how the hell did that "0" get there? Here this is easier 155 watts per plant,
-that previous shit was supposed to say 6,550 lumens although it is now 8,500.
to bad its not really 65,000 lums, that would produce some biggggggg assss buddds

what is this stem growth you talking about???? Do you mean streatching??? I would go with more than a 20$ investment though, besides CFL's last forever, just use um around your house when your done. Although daylight CFL's give off to much of a creepy white light color, I didn't like it in the end so I replaced um with warm white. Daylights kinda hurt my eyes too!

Unless you want to go into flowering early u would rather choose cfl's.....

but if u got time untill august thats real cool....

It becomes stretching if stem growth is emphasized for too long. Different light spectrums provoke different types of growth for the plant, ie stem, resin, leaf, etc..

You should check my first grow usin cfls my friend i learned tons from them no reason to diss them there great side lighting for indoor growing:blsmoke:

yeah I think if I was using hps of mh I would still use CFL's for that extra side lighting, is there really such a thing as to much lighting? (Assuming your not cooking your plants)

no u wudnt .. trust me .. i use a 1000 watter mh and hps and the cfls just get in my way ..... i do CFL grows too .. just for some extra bud lying around ... but ... that guy said in august plant ur seeds?! .. u want to in late may .. to make sure no more forsts are coming and such ... let those fuckers go alllll summer ull end up with trees at the end of summer .. = loads of herb .. yesum.

i visit the hydro store often and such ...one of the owners grows cannabis(whoda thunk it)...well through out my many visists we have become freinds .. smoked together blah blah blah... but he uses 1000watters for a 10ft x 10ft area, and his plants are beautful indeed .. i use both my mh and hps together in a full size bedroom... therfore me putting or hanging CFLs from my ceiling wud be a waste of time and energy... ill just save my CFLs for my lil 2ft by 2ft ( i have 12 26w CFLS ..6 warm 6 cool) ...works pretty well :) ..

my first grow consisted of 10 40 watters and 2 26ers and i pulled an oz off each bonzais in my closet with a minimum of 6 week veg, i am proud of this first one, but now i got myself an hps system and ill just add my cfls around for side lightimg i dont really care, more light, more buds thats what i learned here:mrgreen:

ehhhh thats not always the case... dont get me wrong at all!!! it wudnt hurt at all .. but there are always exceptions to the rulle....

i.e. 4plants 1000w hps .. u dont need help AT ALL with cfls haha

LOL well thats for sure my friend cfls just get in the way of the 100 watt bulb, in THAT case fuck the cfls hahaha:blsmoke: but i only got 400 hps so ill surround it with cfls here and there to boost the lumen power:peace:
