Does anyone happen to know how much/many hours of sunlight a plant should be getting outdoors?

At least 6-8 hours of direct sunlight.

18 hours vegetation, 12 hours flowering. The light cycle decreases to 12 of sunlight in the later part of the season where plants sense this and start flowering. You should read the FAQ for more info.

Healthy herb plant(s) can use as much sunlight as they can get.
