Sunshine 4

Ok I have been using Happy Frog with not much problem.

To me Happy Frog is out of the area 25 miles. LOL

I can get Sunshine 4 in town 9 miles.

I went ahead and got some Sunshine 4. Open it up looks good roots will love this.

I'm trying something different with my Potatoes. I'm growing them in big fiber pots with a door on the side.

I wet the Sunshine 4 before using and used it with my Potatoes. That was over a week ago and the soil is still wet.

Thinking no way will the girls like this so I'm staying with Happy Frog.

No roots means no uptake
You are misjudging the product

I'm assuming you got the blue bale and not the black/yellow bale, it's expected for it to retain water longer, especially before the roots have established. Sunshine #4 (blue bale) is very similar to ProMix HP. In 5 gal pots I feed every other day where with coco/perlite 10 gal pots I was feeding once a day. Huge upgrade for me and my yields have stayed the same with half the work in watering 36 plants.

OK all they had was the Black Bale. Pro Mix I can get where I'm getting Happy Frog.

They are pushing the Happy Frog.

Should I like the Pro Mix better?

Unless you like paying a lot more for medium. I use Pro Mix HP or Sunshine 4 with no issues and great results. Check out Sunshine Advanced.

Ok can get the Sunshine 4 in Town.

How do you water from the start? Just some around the girl or much more?

Do you feed sooner.

I feed starting about 2 weeks in. Start low with very young plants. I feed in a slow circle around the plants where I know they can reach with roots. Never right next to the plant. That comes later when I tear up the medium with a skewer to keep it loosened up.

Maybe spoke too soon. Tomatoes I have in Sunshine 4 are doing great. They needed watering so maybe I just forced too much when I first planted.
