To be fair, rockwool is an algae slut and from what I've seen in sophisticated large scale commercial hydro setups running vegetables like tomatoes, the horticulturists don't seem to care whatsoever. I've always used toppers on the cubes, but the macro plugs are exposed unless you get into some tedious panda filming or something. This is another reason I prefer Root Riot plugs.
I’m with you man, I do controlled defoliation after it not working for myself. But instead of trashing the technique, personally, I know it’s my inexperience. So I keep trying till I can figure out what works for me. But I always know that what works for me might not work for the next person. So I keep at it. I will always grow a plant to fruition, it’s a matter of how/when you get to the end, defoliation or not. Plus it’s not like we’re growing for each other. Amiright? Lol
