super cropped problem... HELP!!

yesterday, i super cropped my girls main stem around the bottom. as soon as i got home around 2:00 a whole bunch of leaves had disorientated colors such as shades of brown so they were all snipped off. i have done some research and figured out that i have made a huge mistake while i super cropped. instead of pinching and bending i pinched then twisted. what a horrible mistake of mine but will it still give off the same effect as if i pinched and bent, simply giving a spherical ball at the place i super cropped?? i put a tissue around the area along with tape and moistened it with water. will my plant get back to its original shape? Note: the s-cropped area is brownish. please give out any info you guys can come up with.. thanks in advance guys. sorry but i cant get any pics up right now.. riu wont let me at the moment

thanks for the input im going to keep an eye on it. hopefully shell be fine in a week or two, im using the tissue to prevent the stem from drying out if i didnt use it my whole plant would dry up. before i put the tissue on the whole plant was crispy but now it has good and soft leaves as before. it seems to be doing my plant a favor
