Just saw this documentary/comedy last night. It's about this guy that goes 30 days without smoking pot (no alcohol either), takes all kinds of tests while sober (SAT, lung capacity test, physical, IQ, and even a psychic test), then after a month goes by, he spends the next 30 days smoking like a maniac, and takes the same tests all over again.
The film is fun to watch, but has its flaws. For example, the main actor (Doug Benson) IS NOT a regular pot smoker. Before the experiment, he used to smoke maybe a couple of times a week. By the middle/end of the movie me and my friend noticed the guy doesn't even know how to take a proper hit. He didn't inhale, at least not all of it. He does smoke a lot during the day (vaporizer, blunts, bowls) and eats a lot of shit that contains THC (brownies, cookies, etc), but in my experience this doesn't get you quite as stoned as smoking... not even close. But that's just me.
A lot of the film concentrates on the new medical marihuana laws in the US, mainly California. This aspect of the film is very instructive. They explained that even though state law allows citizens to smoke and sell weed through dispensaries (with a proper license, of course), federal law does not recognize this right and consequently there are quite a few DEA busts every month in the different dispensaries. They take all the weed, food, list of patients, etc, while the citizens chant 'DEA... go away'. Theres a rogue cop that's on a mission to bust every dispensary in CAL. Worth watching if only for this.
Just a FYI. When the guy is sober, he scores 980 on the SAT, he lost 2 lbs in those 30 days, his lung capacity was at 92%. He takes the SAT stoned and scored 1030 (an insignificant difference IMO). He gained 8 lbs during the 30 days (significant, lol) and his lung capacity was at 89% after the end of the trial (insignificant according to his Dr). He was WAY funnier when he was high.
Not sure if this is available on DVD. My friend got it off a torrent site.
