nah no time scale i'm just going to put them in my tent and let them grow and then super lemon haze can have a long veg

when the ph rises the ppm is staying the same so i think the hydrton is makeing it rise and thats why the plant doesnt use the nutes

As i say hydroton is inert it is made of nothing but expanded clay it should not affect ph if you didn't wash the hydroton before use the dust from the hydroton rubbing together may well affect your ppm/ec as the dust is dissolved in the water

any ideas what else it could be:?: it isnt the plant useing the nutes up because the ppm is staying the same :leaf:

What's the growth like is she coming up? if she's growing normally i wouldn't worry to much she's still a babi so she shouldn't need to take much up starting off

Rite just done some research on another forum and your problem is not actually a problem it's all good :)

Hey man - it sounds like your plant is the culprit here! I've heard of some plants 'self-adjusting' it's pH to where it likes it - sounds like this is the case here... Keep an eye on her and simply how she looks will tell you if it's a problem. In my TD grow, the pH was around 7.3 for the first 3 weeks or so and it was fine. Theoretically, the plant won't use nutrients for at aleast the first 3 weeks of veg during which time the pH is really not that important. This makes sense because your pH is what controls your plants' nutrient uptake...since it's not using much nutrient yet, the high pH isn't a big concern. Many nutes these days have 'buffers' in them that will adjust the pH for you to the 5.5-6.5 range, and that it the range where the majority of your nutrients can be most easily absorbed by the plant. :leaf:
