Super Lemon Haze x2, Afghan, Purple Kush - 400 watt HPS - Closet Grow

Will be running a 400 watt HPS light. Hydrofarm Radiant 6" Air Cooled hood with a 400 watt Lumatek Ballast. The Super Lemon Haze was bought feminized from GHS. The Afghan and Purple Kush are bagseed. I have many seeds from bags, but all were very good bags for the most part. I dont know which seed is what right now, but when they start going ill be able to spot them. Running 12/12 from seed.

I peak at about 85 degrees from 12 inches away from glass, but will keep tweaking to get it as cool as possible. I have a sliding glass door next to the closet and it being winter really makes it easy for air control. No need for an inline fan yet.



10/15 - Placed all 4 in a cup of water to germ

10/16 - All but the Afghan has cracked open. The ones who
cracked were placed in Rapid Rooters (SLH, PK)

10/17 - The SLH and PK in RapidRooters were placed into
2 gallon tall soil pots using Happy Frog soil and a
dome was placed over them to retain moisture for
the little ones.

10/18 - Afghan cracked open this morning, will be going into
Rapid Rooter today.

10/19 - Placed Afghan and rapid rooter into soil. 3 2gallon buckets and one Solo cup. the Afghan
I believe is going in a cup

10/20 - All but Afghan has sprouted and showing green this morning.
Will be watering for first time today. As you can see i have a sliding door next to my closet. and since its getting cold out its pretty helpful for the temps. Im hoping they wont grow into the light

The two tall ladies are SLH. The not so tall one is Purple Kush. In my lil bottle is Afghan. I plan on adding more soil to the lengthy one. Temps today in low and mid 80's. Going to be 38ish out tonight so i hope i get 50's in the closet

The taller SLH fell over today! she just needed some more support though, so i added more dirt to all of them. Other than that, the first set of leaves is gettin bigger and they like their water!

The leaves have gotten much larger and the plants decided to grow like an inch last night and perk out their second set of leaves. Im diggin the light power

Cool i8urbabi.. plants looking good, i dont think you want temps below 60.f im sure 70.f is the lowest mine go with 600s up. I try and aim for 26.c-28.c with lights on and 20.c with lights off some times drops to 19 but as long as it doesnt drop by 10 degrees is suposed to be good.


You should also get a small blowing fan to circulate air ,point it away from the seeds though as there to weak at mo .I think you should have 1 input fan on at least with hps lights Im no expert though thats just my opinion even if i wait to flower to put exhuast on i'll def have air going in,but as i said 600s are hotter. if you have any trouble temps i'd say get the inline out, Put some water out in the room to raise the humidity for the seeds and if you can its worth it to get so mylar for your walls or black and white atleast as if helps a lot trust me..

Yeah you will get something good for sure.I use the same light and everytime i flower something they come out with good results.+rep

I have 2 fans running at the moment actually. a small 9" fan that sits about a foot back from the light that blows air all around the light and down on the plants. and the other fan is a taller stand fan 22" and it just blows cold air into the closet. Its been 60's outside so my temps average in the mid 70's. at night my closet got to 62 so hopefully thatll cause some color changin but who knows!

Is it bad if the taller plant in last pics posted sticks up like that? Should i place soil to help support her? Thanks!

Cool i8.. its normal for seeds to do that Put a little support for it if you want ,at the mo im using tooth picks(criss crossed) for one,and plastic tube for another..
the two pots in the middle.
I heard about cold temps changing the colour of certain strains so it might happen for you aswell.
Is this your first grow?

wow u got a collection starting there. Its actually my 3rd grow, but my first real grow id say. First grow was all CFL's. Second is on here somewhere and was a small HPS with the CFLs again. And now i feel more professional about it and have a 400w HPS. I am excited for my crop to look like i see in pics here lol. I got squat with CFL's. I am a complete noob at nutes tho. So ive been lurking for info on plans. Irie got his SLH to turn purps with temps in the 50's at night ibelieve. they went purple and actually looked like scary nugs but mmm

Im looking to add more aswell Same here alwasys reading stuff, i must of watched jorge cervantes dvd over 20 times over a 6mth period,but still didnt know much till i came on here and 1 other forum, i never heard of lst before. As soon as you think you've mastered it you'll find something else that shows you aint like Heaths Critical Mass Tree (type it in search),all i can say is wow i got a long way to go.
Keep up the work ,and remember dont take one persons word as law as theres always a different opinion or method so take in but also check things out yourself.Soon you'll be growing monsters.!!

ya its def. crazy on what experience will bring you in your grows. that Heath Critical Mass grow was insane its like outdoor plants inside lol. If u know his feeding schedule please let me know lol!

Watered the plants today. They are about 2 inches tall and the second set of leaves is about halfway out on all of them... EXCEPT... this purple kush & afghan . they are havin a slow start so hopefully they will pickup their game and come to senses lol. The afghan is just now losin the shell. But has made alot of progess throughout the day so high hopes for both still. They are the bagseeds. the SLH are the 2 healthy ones from GHS that are game.

10-25 Second set of leaves are coming in nice today

10-26 The Afghan and Purple Kush are much slower than the SLH. Afghan is just showing 2 more leaves now

10-27 The SLH is about 3 inches across. the other 2 are still slow pokes. moved the light down to about 6 inches

10-28 will post pics today or soon enough

The 2 SLH like the soil more soil than hydro so far it seems to me. The Afghan is a bit of a slow learner, as well as the Purple Kush. Temps are at 78 here. I started adding some nutes. Im still a noob, and am using GH floragro and floramicro hardwater. mixed them correctly and what not i believe just dont know what to expect lol. Do they look funky at all?
