hi, i post frequently on another forum and not so much here (im more of a background lurker just reading the info here lol)
just some quick background info, ive been growing a few years, and nearly all of those years it has been organic. im a medical grower in cali and i want only pure clean medicine, the way its supposed to be.. i know well beyond the basics so i hope these questions arent considered the run of the mill waste of time questions that are repetative that i read thru in all those threads (i dont want to be a slave to the nutrient companies as i see so many are today, i want basic additives that will simplifiy the whole grow cycle and be more cost friendly).
this run im half way through flowering im using roots organic and watering twice a week, first using liquid karma and pbp soil for flower, hygrozyme and low dose of meta-k.. then on the 2nd watering i do compost tea's consisting of azomite, kelp, worm castings, alaska humus, yucca extract, humic acid, blackstrap molasses (unsulfured) and fish hydrolysate. adding low doses of guano during certain weeks of flower (peruvian and jamacian first week, jamacian 2nd, and indonesian wks 3-5)
but doing things this way is fairly time consuming. so after i finish this round im going to give the super soil a try.. ive read every page of each hundred page threads and i had a few questions i was hoping to ask sub at the end only to find out the thread was closed lol. anyway, if anyone can chime in i'd appreciate it so i can be 100% confident when i move forward with my super soil grow.
- just out of curiousity, would using alaska humus be adding any benefit to the soil as far as the diversity of life that is being created? and if so, how much would you recommend using?
- im planning on making the mix, and letting it sit for 60 days during the whole previous flower cycle before i use it. is the single 3 gallons of water going to be enough for 60 days of sitting untouched? if not what should i look for before adding more water? or should it not be required to add any more? also, if i was to make a large batch for the whole year (indoor) what kind of maintenance do i need to give the soil, as far as adding 3 gallons of water once a month for example?
- i noticed sub said he uses a sweetener mid-late in flower.. i like to use unsulfured blackstrap molasses. should i just go with a tablespoon per gallon once a week all thru flower? or do you see this as not even necessary to add? (thinking to help feed the microherd and also as a carb additive?) and if so, when do you recommend the molasses be applied if not thru the whole flower?
- last question: my tap water comes out at 7.6, after a 24 hour aeration to remove chlorine it is at 7.7.. should i bother ph'ing this down to 6.5? (i read sub said he does this in one of the threads) or will the soil buffer it without problem? if i do ph it, im assuming it would be better to use a natural product such as earth juice ph down over a synthetic such as general hydro? and also, the dolomite to my understanding raises ph over time.. if i dont ph my water, should i maybe cut the amount of dolomite in the super soil in half in an attempt to keep the ph within ideal ranges toward the end of flower?
thanks.
