On the horse manure, it's a "dry lot" where we keep them in the winter while we feed them hay, and pretty much nothing else. I turned it last year with a garden tiller, and plan to do so again now that they are out on pasture.

The dry LOT is @ 100' x 50' and at least 6" deep. I will try to get some pictures and post them later. It is FULL of worms!

Now to show my ignorance.... What is worm castings? I figure that it is worm manure, but just cannot imagine following the worms around with a dust pan, scooping up worm manure! LOL

Can you post videos on this forum? If so I will try to make one showing the dry LOT and turning the soil, so everyone can get a better idea of what it is like.

My kids don't buy worms for fishing, they get them free from our land. The easiest way for them to do that, is to lay some old clothes down and after about a week or so, move the clothes and simply pick them up, no digging needed.
U got me Idk what worm castings are

worm castings are the soil that results from worms eating their way through a compost heap. It's essential worm processed veggie matter. Worm manure. ;)

That's about what I thought. Thanks for the clarification! Now I know for sure what it is.
