Dam these threads piss me off. I had RKS 10 years ago but under a different name. My house and clothes smelled like skunk. Everywhere I went old ladies would start looking around and say "I smell a skunk". My gf used to get in trouble at work because her coat smelled like a skunk. She had to put her coat in a closet. I had to put my coat outside when I visited my Mom's house because everybody hated the skunk smell. I never did have any skunk seeds though and I can't remember which weed that I had that was so skunky. I had a White Widow that I culled because it smelled like cat piss, maybe it was that one. I kinda thought it was the Sour D but I still have that and it's fuely not skunky. I don't think it was the Jack Herrer either. It totally sucks because I had the nasty skunk smell and I can't remember which one it was but it wasn't actual skunk seeds.

What i posted is Periconia byssoides a myco is being studied because it eliminates 321 MBT. 321MBT is skunk thiol responsible for the odor

Different strokes for different folks. But rest assured, there are MANY people who want the original road kill skunk and there are MANY people who are more interested in effects than fruity smells. That said, I like both.

Oh people like it alright. I will agree with you that it’s very likely that the industry didn’t want it because it’s rather conspicuous and in a “war on drugs” legal environment with draconian prison sentences growing/possessing weed that announced it’s self before it walked into a room was a riskier proposition. I will also agree with you that the dessert weeds sell particularly well.

But to summarize skunk as not having a viable consumer market is way off base IMHO.

If you need some confirmation browse a seed bank or two and see how many times the word skunk comes up in the description.

I didn't say anything about forum members I suggested you look at seed sellers descriptions used to market seeds and how often the word skunk is used.

i thought all weed smelled of skunk? lol

yeah yeah... i know don't tell me i know it smells like cookie dough and stuff but when i let my granny smell it or someone who doesn't smoke they tell me it smells like a dead skunk. atleast i have road kill skunk to them.

I grew it a few years ago and was very disappointed. It had very little smell at all. Everything else in the room smells stronger than the Texas Roadkill. I grew out 6 seeds before I gave up. Maybe I just got a bad batch.

i ran two packs to get that one stinky keeper.. and it does get way stinkier as it cures.. this one anyways
