This is the story of the little plants that could.

I present to you The Saga of the Super Window!

On the first day we see that I have three (3 gallon pots) all snuggled under the grow light that @Kerowacked suggested I buy on Amazon.

Up into this point I have been preparing my soil, getting my fertilizers and cleaning my house and preparing my grow space.

Quite a few weeks of preparation in fact.
Including purchasing the things that I needed like tools and gauges and whatnot.

It was quite a chore to put the grow lights up in the window and install the fan and the heater and put all of the reflective surfaces on the wood.

So here we are at the beginning of day one.

My seeds had been planted at about 8 am PST ON MARCH 8TH

DAY 3

My babies popped out of the soil!

It's actually getting close to day 4 at this point and so they definitely popped out between the 3rd and the 4th day.

Plenty of good organic compost in the soil.
Beneficial bacteria and fungi for the rhizosphere.

Perhaps a little bit too much vermiculite though, as I noticed that my soil does not drain as quickly as I hoped.

But I was a little bit concerned about the plant on the left, she definitely was a little hot when she came out and her shell was still on her body, so I eventually took some tweezers and gently pulled it off after spraying it with some water.

As everyone knows this is a crucial time for your seedlings.

One of the seedlings had a funny face!

I felt like it was magic ✨✨✨

...Day 6!

Almost a week old now.

The little seedling that could over on the left is definitely showing signs of improving her life.

At this point now I have the power to 25% of capacity on my grow lights however I still don't have a very good temperatures as the night time sees about 67° and the daytime sees about 74.

With the aluminum Auto shades on the window it wasn't quite enough to keep a good seal, even though the reflectivity of the material definitely helped.

I also was having problems with humidity and I at this point looked into buying something on Amazon to miss my plants to keep the humidity levels between 60 and 75%.

I also have at this point updated my timers to three Wi-Fi digital timers that could be changed from any place that I go.

...Fast Forward to day 11

I've got my temperatures a little better and now my light strength is at about 30%
Been giving them pHed water with lemon juice (citric acid) plus a some trace amounts of Kelp and micronutrients with every watering.

They were looking really good at this point!

A little Powdery Mildew, so treated with Garden Safe Fungicide in the soil as well as Potassium Insecticidal Soap and a few drops of Rosemary Oil, Peppermint, Spearmint.

Also was still treating the rest of my plants for fungus gnats in the house.

Starting to get things under control.

Day 13

An unfortunate turn of events
.

I made the unfortunate Mistake of feeding my seedlings Evian Mineral Water.

I also believe I was over watering my plants.

I tried to correct this problem right away, letting the soil dry out and immediately flushing with just plain water.

I trimmed the bunt edges off.

You can see that they have become more yellow too.

Definitely was a bad idea.

...Day 15

Made some significant changes to my grow space!

I added a plastic ZIP Wall, installed a shelf for my heater, increased light energy to 40%

Now getting stable temperatures.

Night time 72° Day 81°

Although it did get up to 83.5 once and that was rather hot for one day.

Adjusted my heater and hopefully more consistent now.

Humidity levels looking great 70% average with my "Mister".

Now I have the reflective Auto shades on top of the plastic. They are attached with velcro to the wall so they can be easily removed to get to the zipper to open the door and water my plants and look after them when needed.

I'm really impressed with the zip door.

For just being a piece of plastic with a zipper and attached to the wall with double-sided tape, it makes quite the difference.

It's still not a complete seal, but that's a good thing because I still get plenty of air flow down below where the root system is.

But the wonderful thing now is my room isn't hot. Now my plants can stay between 72 and 80 and I can be at the temperature that I need to be at depending on the day. ☮☮☮

Day 16... looking kinda GRIM

As I mentioned before, I Made the unfortunate Mistake of adding Evian Mineral Water to my plants.:wall::sad::dunce:

They experienced improper pH and nutrition burn overnight.

In addition, the umol/par light levels were too high. So I've made adjustments, stopped watering them and letting them dry out.

They look very weak now, stems are buckling a little and plenty of yellow and burnt edges.

Definitely a lesson learned here.

Will update in a few days with the recovery process.
