Hello, im new to this site and new to growing in general. I've been trying to search this site for other threads regarding the superponics systems. Ive just ordered the Superlocker 2.0 (please save your opinions about my choice of grow gear) and was wondering if anyone is willing to share their techniques with a novice. Thank you.

I've not used that, but I am using a very small grow tent ( see my signature if you want to see my little 2 plant grow ). Hopefully people will be more helpful for ya ;) I understand wanting the whole thing wrapped up into a sleek , cool looking little cabinet like that with everything ready to go. Sorta like when you go to 7-11...you end up paying for the convienience. :)
But I think once you get into the swing of things, you will realize that you spent an awful lot of $$ for stuff you could put together on your own for a fraction of the cost. Just my 2cents...no judgement here sir ;)

What type of nutrients do you plan on using , and what kind of strain(s) do you want to grow?

It really comes down to time vs. money and i dont have a lot of free time with my job. Im not trying to grow pounds of weed, im just trying to become self sufficient.

Im ordering AK-48 from nirvana because its the "weekend whopper" and i read that its a pretty fast growing strain. Have you had any experience with this strain? or the better question is have you had experience with this site? Im very wary of using an online site so if you have any experience or techniques you would like to share I would be very grateful.


I dont really know much about nutrients so I was planning on using the ones that came with the locker. Maxigro and Maxibloom

Are you talking about using THIS site ( rollitup.org ) , or the online web site to order seeds? I've used both with no issues ;) But then again, I'm in a state that has MM laws and I hold a MM card, so I'm not THAT worried about anybody coming to break down my door for me ordering a 10 pack of seeds.

Sounds like a plan! I recentlyl switched over to using General Hydroponics nutrients and i really like them so far!

I would grow one or two plants max do yourself a favor and read up on scrogging. It's the best way to maximize your yield with he space you have and regardless if you have 150, 250, 400, it don't matter you will get an oz min. Which is good for a months worth of bud depending on your medicine regimine. But yea. Look up the scrog club on here and you will get a great training lesson on how to maxize the ak48. (excellent choice by the way)

Also u will be just fine ordering from nirvana. They are excellent. Not to stealthy but they are great genetics

Thank you for the idea and for the confidence in nirvana. I having a tough time deciding between Nirvana and Attitude.

My grow space is 36"H x 14"W x 24"D is that enough room for a scrog? what type of screen do you use in your setup?

How in the hell are you going to flower 8 plants in 15" of width? That leaves no space for the plants to bloom out lol. Not making fun of your choice, making fun of the company. You can get those cabinets at a yard sale or commercial auction or salvage store or from your grandparents for like 10 bucks lol. Spray paint is an additional 5 dollars. I'd also be interested in seeing someone flower 8 successful healthy plants with 16K Lumens. I'm doing 8 autoflowers using true NFT hydro and 29,000 lumens :p

Anyway, your best hope is to do hours and hours of google searches and reading articles. Don't just learn how to grow "pot" but rather learn how to practice horticulture. I think if you learn that, then you will grow some really good bud... Plus you can brag to little old hags about how you learned gardening through growing pot lol

How many lumens would you suggest for this size of a grow box? I dont plan on growing 8 plants at once, I was thinking 2-4. I only ordered 5 fem beans from nirvana so my frist grow is going to be very small. I will probably only germ 2/3 of the seeds and from those plants ill make clones and continue from there.

Do you have any techniques on pruning? I was reading Uncle Ben's Topping Technique and wondering if there was any other ways. Maybe to keep to the plants from spreading out and just growing one main cola? Or as many colas as possible with out spreading out too much? Idk

Ive been reading 'Jorge Cervantes' Marijuana Horticulture the indoor/outdoor medical growers guide' and its been pretty helpful, but noting will be as helpful as hands on experience and talking to other growers. I still have much to learn.

I think you will do just fine. The biggest issues are the environmental ones. Soil or hydroponics...any way you go, you will need to stay on top of things like PH level, temperatures, humidity levels, pests...etc. Also....it's best to err on the side of underfeeding when it comes to adding nutes to your water. Get yourself a Ph meter , a ph adjustment kit and a Ppm meter too.

yeah ive been reading up on pH, a level between 5.5 and 6.5 is good, right? and is the ppm meter very important?? ive read journals where the people didnt bother with ppm or even pH

Any suggestion on what type of water? tap, reg bottled, or distilled? i dont mind spending a few bucks if it will make a difference

last questin of the day, can you premix your nutes and store them?
