Supplemental LED bulb DIY

I was wondering if it would be worth it to strip the led pcb out of those led bulbs, remmount to aluminum heatsink, and use an appropriate driver to power like 15-20 of those led boards and kind of have something similar to a quantum board. Just been brainstorming here seeing y'all's projects...

This! Lower the drive current, more boards... they need almost no heat sinking as is. Efficiency isnt the greatest though. Only reason i havnt fucked around with it yet is i dont have a bench power supply to figure vf

I'm probably going to buy more bulbs soon, like an assortment of them(different manufacturers) to see what LEDs they use, what the circuit looks like and do some testing on the individual LEDs and then the circuits themselves. Just don't enough about these bulbs to be honest. I'm sure I can also find spec sheets and schematics for a few of these bulbs online if I search hard enough.

I get the cree bulbs at home depot. Mostly because theyre cheap there but they seem pretty decent
