vegas and havasu are just as hot if not ho9tter, which is why people who work outrdoors work early and quitting time is before the heat of the day. it feels likea hot air dryer to drive through in the summer...horrible
Havasu is about the same but not vegas......... I worked in Phoenix laying tile during summer.......even the mornings were hot as hell .......I could imagine out in a field........f that........

i think there are a lot of americans that wouldn't mind any kind of job right now.

and no, it was NOT implied. you made that part up yourself.

pretty silly to think ONLY an illegal will perform certain jobs.
no, its not that they are the only ones that can do it. but they will do it for the little amount that they get paid for...
if u paid farm workers minimum wage u would have a spike in food prices. i read different numbers (most seem to be scare tactic numbers) . maybe it wont be so bad. but when u have to deal with pension funds/401k/benefits/unions/insurance/lawsuits... well, again it looks like prices would go up a bit.
maybe after that happens we will end up importing all of our food from china (where we might still get it cheap)

i dont think any person in the us will take the low wages those industries pay...

but yeah

The fallacy of Low wages for Farm workers is a prevelant one. I have personally picked more than my share of fruits and veggies. The wage is one of incentive scale where you get paid for what you pick. I actually made pretty damn good money considering the level of skill. It was well above minimum wage for the time, almost double. Lettuce, strawberries and peppers were hard work but paid good money when you got the hang of it.

TYVM.
A couple of years ago when I was unable to get enough biz in my IT business I went to work for one of the local farmers. It was time to lay the irrigation pipe. WOW!!!! that was some hard ass work man.. 2 weeks of laying pipe and I was feeling muscles I had forgotten about for years.
when I went to ask for work the farmer was not sure I could hang or would stay on for the duration of work. He advised me that he ahd hired plenty of Americans that would walk off the job after a couple of days. I assured him that I would work until I either finished or died trying.
Once we finished laying the pipe he gave me a bonus and hired me a few more times for other work.
Even now I am on call for a few places here in Or to do busboy, cook or cleanup janitorial work. If I am not busy with my IT biz I will do whatever it takes to make ends meet.

As far as supporting AZ., I take a vacation there every year. I own a condo in Sedona, (Time Share of course). I go for a week and eat out 80% of the time, take turisty excursions, and spend money like water. This year we're going to do a mid level raft trip on the colorado, last year it was a group plane ride. Most of my immediate family lives in Central Az., I lived there for some years myself. In Az., it is lawful to wear a gun in plain sight to most places with the exception of national parks, Now even in Bars. I'm glad it wasn't legal when I lived there or I may still be in prison for some of the mischeif I got into in Cottonwood bars. The fistfighting was plenty good enough for me. I am in total agreement with the Az. laws on illegal immigrants. Send them back along with their "anchor" babies. If one is born here from illegal parents it should be clear that they are in fact illegal also. The worlds richest man lives in and is a citizen of Mexico. Seems they need to step up their tax code and start some social programs and work projects. Birth control would also be a nice touch, Damn the catholic church for not allowing birth control, my opinion only.
