Supporting my "habit!"~ Beginner Grow

Hello all! New to the site. Happy to be here! Name is COSYC and I am going go to share my first grow with you and others. Please feel free to put in your opions.


4/1 - Planted 12 seeds in a Ferry~Morse "greenhouse."

4/4 - First sign on seedlings. Have 8 so far. The package to the greenhouse has said to raise the lid to allow the others to fully germinate. I hope to put them in the partail sunlight tomorrow!! I plan on using distilled water from the get go. How long should I wait before I transplant to a larger pot? I plan on using Jiffy Pots for the first time. Then move them to the Final one. How many times is it safe to transplant? I would think it was the less the better. Right?

Okay. We will see tomorrow. Oh, I am using "Jungle Grow" potting soil. It is organic. Got it at Lowes.

hey, welcome to RIU and good luck with the grow.. transplanting wont really stress a plant much if done carefully.. i transplant in veg when required (ie to allow roots to grow), and work up through 3 or 4 pot sizes (seedling pot, @litre pot, 15 l pot, maybe even 35l for bigger plant).. works fine for me, and i "feel" i'm helping to build a root ball which i "guess" is a good thing (nowt but personal superstition really)...however, some just go from jiffy plugs/whatever straight into full size pot and have awesome plants.

Hello and thank you. I do plan on using Jiffy Pots. Do u know if the mess that is on the peat pellet starters have to come off or are they biodegradable?

I plan on putting the seedling in the sun tomorrow and giving them a little distilled water. How many hours is the avarage they should get?

What are your aspirations for these plants after germination? Indoor? Outdoor?

They will be outdoor potted plants. I want them to be good sized and yield pleantiful. However I live in a close neighborhood. I just want to grow for me and only me. Well, and a few buds.

So now 9 of the 12 seedlings are germinated. They all have their first set of leaves and also the forst pair of spiked. Woo Hoo! Plan to water them with distilled water in the next few days and transplant them in a week. I am getting ahead on my reading for the vegative phase. Can I use a shade cloth to cover my little ones when they get mature, around 12"?

So the little ones are growing rapidly. They are doing well despite the fact we are getting NO sun! The seedlings are about a week into the grow. How much water do they need?

At the end of week one the kids are looking good. They look strong and healthy. Please comment! Tell me what you think?
