Sweet Deep Grapefruit

After reading the reviews on Sweet Deep G I am looking for to trying some of it.

I got the sdg as a freebie last year and loved it! awesome high and taste. def oredering it and the cloud#9 this year (*it was a freebie too*) cause I was told by more than one smoking buddy that the c#9 was the best they'd EVER smoked! plus it produced a respectable amount of bud.
I dig dinafem and recommend 'em as far as genetics go! for the price and the result I'd like to see somebody who can beat 'em! (*no really I would so I could totally buy up a ton of killer fem gear at a discount!*)

^^ had mixed results with them..... tried their blue widow critical+, white widow and white siberian...... loved the siberian OMG.....juss my two cents cloud #9 sounds interesting...... imho genetics are only as good as the rep of the breeder making them.... I've stuck with sensi seeds n Barney's primarily.....def can vouche for em with some stuff

I'm sure some wished they had my problems...I just had to drop a couple of DSG's at week 2 of flower due to height constraints in my tent......@ 49=50" they went past my 2 Jumbo 180W LEDs mounted as high as they could go. I was utterly amazed as my friends were too that an indica would hit these heights with such a fat stem diameter too. I tied them here & there with weights and they just raced toward the lights somewhere else. I've never seen an indica stretch 3-4" a day, every day once placed into 12/12.
Here's my story.....I started 2 Dinafem seeds in hempy cups (coco top/perlite bottom). As they approached the 4" mark I transplanted to 3 gal hempy buckets (coco/top, perlite bot) under T5's and worked up to the Lucas formaula with GH FloraNova Bloom. These plants were the fattest bushiest things I've ever grown. I'm going right-on, hempy is the shit man. The inter-nodal spacing was very tight with stems approaching 7/8" in no time (better than any of my soil grows). I fimmed once on each at a 14" height and moved to flower at 4 weeks from seed under 2 -Jumbo 180W LED's. At that point the race began, every day I would come home and the they were again the light lens's. I raised the light every day for 2 weeks till they went right past. Even the first node stems were as high as the others. What was fat & bushy now had inter-nodal spacings of 6"-7". I threw my hands up, took 4 clones and chopped them down. I'm going to start them again but I'm going to try something different. I've had great success with my LED's and have convinced my friends that you can grow tight-ass donkey dicks as long as your arm but this is my first attempt with passive hydro which rocked. These DSG's would raise their leaves almost straight up like they were praising god for the light. So I'm getting a 400W HPS with digital ballast and see if it's a better match-up for hydro applications. If that doesn't work I'll try a smaller bucket and limit my nutes.....these girls drank the full 8ml Lucas dose with ease every watering. I love this strain and should I have to I'll go back to soil where I had some control on height and speed of growth. Looking at these broad ass leaves you would think this was an indica dom.....anybody think the Sativa mix is the root cause? Did your DSG go tall?

hello, this is my SDG day 40 flowering..... is so frosty already....the smell is really heavy, like tangerines and oranges...sweet..can´t wait to taste this baby!

they way its description states that it's "very acidic tasting" is very good way to describe it. Before reading the full breeders description recently, I had been trying to describe its taste and smell as "something that makes your mouth water". But that acidic description fits the bill very well.

I grew sweet deep grapefruit last year and it was some good smoke. Did pretty well growing, too. Never had any herm issues or anything. I got a couple more beans that I may run again later on this year. I topped her and did a little LST and ended up with a nice 4 cola bush about 28inches tall, kept me in smoke for about 3 months.

i popped two seed of this strain...im not grow with fem seeds but i have to say that this is a real good strain.....like u said...easy to grow and respond well to top .... let´s see how it end....can´t wait...

Say all, did any of your SDg's have a lot of leaf edge curl when they were in veg? Here were mine back when they were 2.5 weeks from seed under T5's. Note the plant on the left. I never found the cure but it went away once put under some jumbo LED's. These eventually overgrew my lights at 3-weeks flowering (~50" tall) so I snagged some clones, chopped and I'm back at the same stage now with the same edge curl. Trying the proven MH/HPS during flower this time to discourage the huge stretch, and with smaller 2g hempy buckets to see if I can tame these rascals.

I have a sweet deep grapefruit germing right now, great i was gonna put her under lights but i think im gonna put her outside after reading about the smell Yay more room in the gro room.

My rerun with SDG as clones under 400W HPS is doing fine but at 1.5 weeks into flower they are 35" tall already...they are doing 3" a day again. I really wonder if they will stop or go past my lights again....at least my HPS hood will raise a little higher in my tent than the LED's did but I have less than a foot of yoyo cord adjustability left. If necessary I could get another 16"hooked directly to the frame of my tent (78" high). But I have to remember 12" of space is needed for a 400W.....I think I'm fucked again. This can't be 80% Indica.

and about your height issues: super crop or LST seem about right

I topped twice during veg and rushed them into flower just 2weeks after setting roots. I generally don't mess with anything after flower start for fear of throwing nanners. Last time around I super-cropped the tallest stems and they kept on going. They formed bulges where I pinched the stem and that was it. I tied them to weights and the bottom stems raced. Every stem on the plants went for it. I've heard blueberry has a big stretch after flip....maybe it's lineage is the root cause. I see some better flower formation today, maybe it will slow down and produce. Fingers are crossed. I'll take pics here when I get the time.

yea, I had one once that when I super-cropped her she just shrugged it off and kept reaching for the sun (outdoor)

but idk man, if it's growing like that you'll have to tie her down. I'd tie her and lower my light, cause maybe she's reaching cause the lights too high?

This should help illustrate the rapid growth my SDG pheno's are displaying. I pulled pics of veg just before 12/12 flip and took new pics today at 11 days into 12/12 @ 40" tall. Can you believe they are the same girls? The Last pic of the light hood distance shows my filter at the the top of my tent...the max I can take my light. They ran past my LED's the last grow in 3.5g coco hempy buckets...so I repeated with 2g buckets this time and an HPS to see if I could settle them down with all the trash in the spectrum.

Damn can u say KABOOM! 11 days in and them bitches are quadrupled in size! IDK man seems like you'll have to try to start lsting to solve this problem.

early in flower start to smell like oranges and tangerines...and now after 7 days drying and 15 in jar....got 1 oz....full smell and strong fruity taste buds...hard and sticky!..... u should try this strain
