switching from 24 to 18/6 should I do it now?

I started with 24/7 with not very much light. It took my plants forever to grow and they stretched out like a bitch.

I finally got a decent light. A [FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif][SIZE=-1] full spectrum CFL bulb 8,500 lumens with reflector and I have six 20 watt fluro plant bulbs on the sides of my plants.

As you can see in the pics my plants are just now starting to fill out.

Since this is my first grow I never really knew about switching to 18/6 after the first few weeks.

Should I do this now? Will this speed up my plant growth?

I want to start to flower these ASAP without making a bad choice. How long should I wait.

Any help or advice will be very cool of you.

thanks.

im guessing you wanan put them on 18/6 until they fill out more and then flower them right? im sure you could switch to 18/6 anytime. like the other person said. i always do 18/6 on my plants, i secretly believe that they need sleep. im sure its true but i wouldnt know for sure. seems to me the plants would need some sort of break from photoshynthesis and stuff all day. theyre working girls, they need their rest like any other living thing.
