switching the light from 24/0 to 12/12

In order to speed things up a bit this time i went with 24/0 lighting instead of 18/6 lighting. Will it cause any stress on the plant if I switch to 12/12?

24/0 is the route i always take in growing while in vegitative state it may not be the true way of nature but it gives your growing ladies plenty of light constantly letting them have a full run at growing if you have been giving 24 hours of light throughout this whole grow 12/12 will induce flowering it is best to swith to 12/12 after you see signs of preflowering.

only down side in my book to 24/0 is a higer electrical bill but a much higher bud output 18/6 is for people who cant deal with elct.bills or havent correctly commited to their room and heat issues are an option with proper venting and humidity 24/0 is the best way to veg. and 12/12 is the only way to flower...(all my opinions)there are many other ways as you know.

It will stress the plant a tad, but nothing to be concerned with. Just expect your plant to SEEM stunted for a week or so. Then BAM it will start growing vertically like its a hoe running from a pimp... or something like that hahaha

12/12 is hands down the only way to flower. Well not technically, but it is the most commonly used light cycle for flowering. There's nothing wrong with suddenly giving your plant 12 hours of darkness.

I have what may seem like a dumb question but i am new at this can you alternate cycles let it grow a month them put it into flowering a few weeks and put it back into veg or will this make for dirt weed or worse yet kill my babies

I've read of people doing that. Bringing a plant into 12/12 light just long enough to sex it and then pulling it back into veg. I'd worry about it turning hermi but I have no personal experience with it.

i think its better to w8 untill the plant shows signs of sex naturally usually about 6 to 7 weeks from seedling dep. on strain that way you only have to cycle the light once and you run a lesser risk of any weird issues or stunted growing.

That would be ideal if you had 8 foot grow ceilings. You gotta remember alot of ppl on here have tiny grow box's made out of totes and stuff. They have enough CFL's....could you imagine pics of 8' trees with CFL's? LOL...you would only see cords and bulbs

I do like to just let them grow naturally though :hump:

as for going back and forth ive heard that it stress you plants severly they get stunted for about a month and i recently got a plant 2wks in to flower anfd i wasnt ready to flower min yet so im egging it and it has been about two weeks and its shown minimal growth so its runs the risk of stunting it
