Sybstitue for mylar is this true???

I actually thought of this not even knowing if it would work but i use mylar wrapping paper a lot cause its cheap and seems to 'look pretty' for a gift. anyways, for how cheap it is Im definitely going to try using it on my next grow.

its funny because the closet they are in is in a completely "green" room. it was never intended for growing and we didnt grow till after we painted it green but not with really is the green room!! anyways, I dont have anything up on the closet walls at all. its green with white closet doors and 400w mh light fixture. so far, plants are going like crazy. Maybe they like the green? lol.

dollar general in my town has it, I found it right after the last time I paid $20 for a 50ft roll of mylar

LOL i know!! I swear my TACO will reflect light off anything. and when Im done with it I'll convert it back to a UFO and send it up to space!! :roll:

for those that dont know this is what a taco looks like... (its a giant fucking pos reflector that doesnt fit anywhere so you get really pissed off and bend the shit out of it till it fits.)

I was walking to the gym in my apartment complex the other day and noticed some of the reflectors that people put on their windshield to keep sunlight out of their car and it stuck me. That could be a pretty good alternative to mylar. I am not sure about the price compared to mylar, but it is thicker and does work to reflect a large amount of light .

I bought 2 when I first started growing along with a 4 ft fluro shoplight. I taped one to each side of the lamp and it made a perfect big ass reflector to keep ALL the light on the plants.
But I think the y would work great to refect light, although I had to give $4 for 2 of them so i think the wrapping paper would be cheaper if you can find it

You can find mylar at most hydroponic stores. If you don't have any hydro or indoor gardening store, then you will most likely have to mail order it.

How can u tell if its the mylar wrapping paper if its rolled up???? i went to target today and super-walmart i couldnt find none and i didnt wnat to ask because i think it would look kinda gay for a guy to go ask " hey do u guys have gift wrapping paper that shiny on the inside"??? and if theres no other way i guess i juss have to ask PLZ tell me if theres a way u can tell

just ask if they have "mylar wrapping paper" if they dont know what it is then describe it a bit. Tell them one one side it is plain silver, and on the other side it has shiny designs. Kinda like normal wrapping paper just really shiny.
This is the only picture of the decorated side of mylar wrapping paper that I could easily find on google but I think youll get the point from it.

Those 2 stores may not have it, some stores only carry it as a seasonal item

if you had read the damn thread you would know it works fine because its just a thinner version of the mylar that is in hydro shops.

HAHAHAHAH thnx tho man ive seen some like that but i should juss ripped it open and put it bak to check if it was the right one but it would look kinda weird for me to go in thier and buy some shit like that ( i think) cuz that is me in my avatar but thnx i think ill juss take my gurl wit me when i buy it
