$20 for everything and $12 for shipping = $32

You just need a power cord so you can plug it into a wall if you want.

perfect pictures man! thank you for all your help. This is def the way to go. Is it possible to get the light socket out of the plastic fixture. Could you break the whole thing down to basic parts without breaking it?

You have spiked my interest in this cheap HPS light. Everyone has been telling me that I need to switch to a 150w HPS and this may be the solution. Just wanted to make sure of a few things before I order.
-Through some easy wiring I can attach the wires to a plug in? (so I can plug it into the wall)
-the $20 includes fixture and bulb?
-Will one of these be sufficient for 2 plants?
-How useful would that reflector be? As strong of a light as it is couldn't I just keep it in close proximity to the plants and be fine.

Thanks for the help, really excited to possibly use this
Hard to believe it is only $20

yes you can just hook it up to a standard 120v outlet plud. just buy a decent extension cord and cut the female end off and use that. I wouldnt say that you SHOULD buy the hood but it would prob help. yes it does come with a bulb and ballas and fixture. The toal after shipping is $32 . which is a great deal. i am in the middle of fabricating mine right now.

The post above pretty much explains it, get any cord you want to use, that plugs into the wall and one wire goes to white and the other goes to black, if there is a third you hook it to ground. You should be aboe to do 2 plants under it but if you have the money get a second light later on for better results, after you get the first one wired up and figure out what is going on. Every litlle bit helps, so it is up to you on the reflector, no one has ordered it yet so you could be the first to report on it. I think most are building their own and I read one person who was extremely happy with the results.

Thank you. finally somone put on something with proof of T12's being good enough!!!

His girls are still very young and he is using them just for cloning/seedling and not for veg but they still are working!

The system I use, I recommend you use it too.

Buy some lowryder seeds (70 days from seed to harvest)

Grow them for three weeks under the t12

Switch them to your other setup (No need to change the light cycle, they auto flower and show sex by the third week.)

Sex them for more seed (Since you can't clone autoflowering strains)

Germ new seeds every 27 days.

Get rid of the boys and keep the girls.

Every month you'll harvest, if you do eneough plants you could harvest a 1/2 to a lb every month without half the problems of S.O.G. method.

The guy growing with t12's hasn't made it to flowering yet, that's where the flouro's will fall short. They're fine for veg though.

Get the $20 HPS, or two. Nothing can give the same lumens or even close for that price.

already did. I have moved past the T12's unfortunatly. Asmuch as i wanted them to work and be useful, it is more then apparent that they are not powerful enough. which sucks because i bought a buch of them. I will still use them for a cloning area. i got two T5 hydrofarms and the 150w hps. i think this will be enough for veg. close to 20000 lumens

Why is everyone saying T12's won't work, probably not even 5 years ago what do you think everyone was using ? T12's were the standard. There was nothing else available in the flourescent market, You MH, HPS and T12's and that was it.

Like I posted a while back, it is possible to grow with T12's but there are better options available now.

Saying they won't work is just plain WRONG.
