T5 Mother Of Berries cheap closet grow beginning to flush

Hey RIU!

I got this Clone of Maine's Own Blueberry, Mother Of Berries, MOB, Money Over Bitches it's full of crazy names. I got thethe clone in June I believe and sadly I know I won't be able to get another and I've really enjoyed it's genetic growth profile.

I know I don't have the optimal grow spot but I am poor and my family are all anti marijuana overly religious u must listen and obey the government 100% and anything against what they say is wrong. It's very very frustrating being a advocate for the most beneficial plant on this earth and have people fighting and making it crazy hard for me to obtain/use/indulge in my medicine/plant/hobby of choice.

Anyway, in this shit rundown rooming house I live in currently I've put everything I got into turning my open closet into a grow area(only possible place to do so).
I got a small 4 bulb Hydrofarm brand T5, I currently have tinfoil lining the dirty walls for reflection but I'm for my next grow going to get and put up Mylar.
I use Fox Farm Happy Frog soil, Fox Farm Grow Big, Tiger Bloom, and Big Bloom. I have a hydrofarm digital timer and as I couldn't install a chain system to raise/lower the light I use boxes and a "drop down" system. I dont care about yield i care about growing my favorite plant. I have some General Hydroponics Cal-magic I havnt tried yet but last time I used cal-mag it made the buds fatter. Should I have used the Cal-Magic or was I right not to?
I have no thermometer, no microscope(i try to take fairly close up pics and use the hairs to help determine where they are at, no ph tester but I only use bottled water so i know its in the correct range for the most part. I wish I could check humidity and temp but whatever im newish and poor. I want to grow as its a hobby and something I am very passionate about and love as I love this plant more than life itself and so i dont gotta spend so much at the dispensaries but i cant get my brainwashed family whos got an aunt who lives naturally and grows/dries/uses her own herbs for them to let me set up a small grow so i can have the amount of medicine I need a month and not have to spend so much at dispensaries same with someone I know.
So I apologise for the shit grow area pics.

I checked her today and did my first of 2 flushes. I will do the last in a week or so maybe give it 24 hours of dark before chop im not sure. I hear different things about that.

Anyway...considering my setup and diffuculties just wondering how you guys think I did? This was my first grow with little to no problems start to finish. Its also my last photoperiod strain im growing for awhile as I have a lot of autoflower beans I cant wait to try.

What do you think? Howd I do? Can I do anything that isn't costly to improve my grow?

@Chronos54 to be honest it's been 60-70 days atleast. I flipped it to 12/12 in mid July but it didn't show pistils till mid August. That's a rough estimate. It's been a fiesty girl and I can't remember the day I topped it but I do know I flipped it 12/12 3 weeks after I topped it. It was growing like a bonsai plant with the branches wrapping around the small stem and budsites like directly on the stem than changed growth patterns after I topped it. The tops kept growing taller and new branches popped up sticking upwards not sideways from the inside and middle area inside of the 2 tops. Was interesting to see. I hate only doing one at a time but at least I can focus all my efforts on the best plant possible with what I have. I honestly think I didn't see a pistil till 3-4 weeks after flipping 12/12 and feeding it bloom nutes. But whatever. She's done.

I out of the blue had someone who's never come through overcharge me for the clone in the end of June and I topped it almost right away after switching buckets and soil as the person used old too airy dry shit soil who gave it to me(and I gave em my new soil to put it in too!) I won't ever get a clone from them again so I bought a bunch of autoflower beans so I can get a much quicker harvest next time and not deal with peoples shit and being taken advantage of. It was a fiasco simply me getting this clone. I don't care if clones grow better I'm seed only from now on...fuck dealing with other peoples shit and guilt trips and extra charges out of the blue and hangups and them acting like they are doing u some kinda favor selling the clone. I'll stick with seeds from here on out unless I can meet someone who's not a prick who don't play games that sells clones for less than $40 ea. Especially after $25 was agreed on.

Anyway, hope that helps. I've been giving it bloom nutes only(stopped the grow big) for a good month and a half atleast(despite the feeding chart recommending otherwise). It's ready... I don't see it getting much bigger and the leaves are yellowing nicely. You can't expect much from just a T5 so I am happy with an O+useable trim or leaves to crush to make something with.

Your grow looks good despite the cab setup.

Next grow, get rid of the tin foil and replace it with mylar or flat white paint.

@Nugachino thanks for the props man! I appreciate it. I'm doing my best with what I have to work with. I know the closet doesn't give the best appearance but at least it gives me a spot to grow one in. I look at it like I'm making the best of the worst. If I'm still here in this rooming house which is very likely in a couple years I'll consider upgrading to led lighting a 250w maybe as those lights are thin cased and hang similar to the T5 but they are much more powerful and work great from all I've seen and read. I agree people wanting $20 for 1 gram and $10 for .5 is nuts. I don't agree with that at all. I know it's close and our lawmakers are fighting the will of the people but I'm praying Question 4 passes here. In Massachusetts here most of the lawmakers, senators like Jason Lewis governer Charlie Baker , mayor Marty Walsh and other top politicians like Maura Healey and Robert Deleao are fighting legalization tooth and nail as hard as they can and it's sickening. They have many campaigns against legalization using scare tactics and false information to scare parents away from the measure and to get people to think legalizing will cause some insane surge of use and hospital visits and accidents out of nowhere will somehow be everywhere, Yet they want to expand liquor licences. It's fucked.
A small piece of a plant shouldn't command what it does here. IMO the Cannabis Culture and those involved should be helping people by getting meds or bud(same thing) to the people that want/need/choose to use it. Not try to charge top dollar and keep prices absurd so people that need it have to go broke to get it. An ounce should be $150 maybe $200 for perfect top shelf not starting at $250 and up to $350 from a dispensary. Why we need legalization to pass. It's crazy IMO to have to pay so much for part of a plant that grows naturally.
Hopefully someday I can get out of here and move somewhere where there's more room so I can build or get a proper tent and light and grow my legal limit.

@Chorse thanks for the suggestion. I am going to switch and take down the tinfoil and get some cheap Mylar from Home Depot and put that up in place of the foil. I just am at the end of this one and wasn't going to do it with a plant still going. I wanted to wait till after this gets chopped and I have an open area to work in and not interrupt the light cycle as my lights go off at 10am and back on at 10pm and I'm well in bed by then. I'll probably start my next grow in December. One plant lasts me a good month so I'll have plenty of meds while I work on switching my reflective material

Stay strong, fight the lies and people that won't accept truth and reality and who would rather see US citizens treated as criminals when we are just avid farmers and gardeners who love nature like most of the world. Some people love daisies, some roses, some herbs like mint, thyme, and chamomile, well we like hemp and cannabis. Stay lifted guys!

I also wanted to add a few pics from today. They are nicer and show it's beauty better as my phone wasn't on the verge of death and the flash worked I gotta flush it again tomorrow as the soil is already almost dry and once the soil dries from that I'm either going to give it 24 hours in darkness with dry soil and then chop or once the soil dries just do the chop. No idea if there's any benefit.

In spite of your clone hassles, it looks like you have a nice bit of drugs there. I am in the midst of chopping myself. Although I still have a bunch left over from my last grow. I don't sell and grow too much for my wife and I's drug need...I should cut back, but once I get the clones growing it is hard to throw them away. I usually experiment a bit with the extra plants.

That's a good idea. I did the same with a bagseed...grew it from seed to flower in a Dixie cup. Only got about an eigth from it but it was a fun little experiment. I wanted to see if multiple mini plants would get me more yield than one bigger one but I prefer the 1 bigger. Sad I can't fit 2 under my small T5. I found topping is key with my T5 as it allows 2 side colas and light to penetrate through the middle of them which helps but still the nugs are small not huge like I've seen many.

As I stated I hope to move out of this place to somewhere I can fit a better or 2nd T5 in for more penetration/lumins. But again, I'm doing the best I can and I appreciate the kind words man!

Experimenting is half the fun of growing and I enjoy learning new things I never knew before. It's a great hobby and sadly too many people still think by growing weed a simple plant your manufacturing something dangerous like heroin/crack/ice/meth whatever. It's a plant that grows and is dried and used just like every other herb on the planet. There is no special Chemical mixture or interaction with it. Like lettuce or chamomile just grow and at most dry and use as is. the ignorant prohibitionists. Free the weed, plant the seed, dry the flower and embrace it's power!

Leave a few lower buds on that plant after you chop and put it back under 24 hour light and it will reveg and grow back out.

That's an interesting idea @whitebb2727 . That would be better than regrowing out a clone. Not 100% if I can do that with this one as I have a room inspection day coming next month and I gotta keep the plant smell(strong) in my room down to a minimal. I'm usually drying out buds or tracking down seeds while I wait for inspection day to pass.

I won't lie I was under the impression if you top a plant than chop both tops(which have all the branches attached) or just naturally it would end it's life cycle as it's been alive so long and die. I'll have to look into that as I have over $200 in seeds I got from herbies in August I can't wait to pop.

@Chorse haha funny enough I don't believe the cannabis plant is a drug personally unless mint, chamomile, thyme, and other herbal plants are as well. I personaly believe and treat it like an herb. I consider anything man made/chemically altered is a drug. But nothing that just grows out of the ground unless u can grow a plant that has pills inside it(not sure how you'd engenieer that haha). But thanks man. This girl has been my best effort so far. I have worked hard despite being very very sick to keep her going and fed and pruned a bit and babied. But you have to WANT to do that regardless if your gonna grow. That's how I feel. If you don't have the itch to do it right you are wasting your time and seeds unless your trying to learn. Right meaning putting effort and care in and putting your plants care in front if your own personal care or problems. At least that's how I see it.

I can't smoke because my lungs are fucked(inflamed, bleed when I smoke, and full of black shit and fiberglass) and I have a bad infection in my body that's moved from my foot to my abdomen/chest and docs are ignoring it and attributing the signs and symptoms like rashes breaking out, skin getting sensitive, getting hard/scaley, and bloated/red/itchy/painfull because of my weight like loosing weight will help me get better from an infection plagueing me since last December. Idiots.
That's sweet you have nug left over from last harvest. I only have enough once I harvest for a months use of cooking or whatever till I gotta wait for my next plant to finish. I know they aren't liked by many longtime growers but I got a bunch of nice small or short in height autoflower beans that'll grow much faster than regs. I can't wait to start my auto Williams Wonder! What strain/strains u growing? Enjoy that bud man!

Revegging an already established plant cuts out a few weeks trying to get it to where it is in height. It also means you'll have a pretty damn good idea of when the plant is ready. And what the smoke will be like.

Though I've heard running a plant more than 2 rounds can diminish the quality. Don't quote me on that though. I'm still a noob. And haven't even made a single harvest yet.

As for wanting to use LEDs. I'm using an over priced shop bought version. Sure I can tune its channels in 1% increments. And have it replicate sunrise and sunset through an internal timer.

But, for the same price as my 90w unit cost. I could have been running nearly 200w of DIY COBs from cutter electronics.

I'm not saying mine is shite. It's doing well. Check my sig pic. That's about 5 weeks under the 90w. But, I'd rather have had the extra power. Even if it means tinkering away with frames and wiring.

I take flowering clones. As long as there are bud sites new limbs will grow. Look up monster cropping. The bud will shoot out a bunch of limbs.

If you leave some of the lower buds it will branch out every where.

Just an idea but I understand the smell and inspection thing.

If your setup is good no one will know. I've had people stand next to mine and not know its there.

Mine makes a bit of noise but that's because I've got the fans screwed into the frame.

How'd that go having people right next to your rig. Make your heart pump a bit.

My grows a bit disorganized in the sense I threw everything together as fast as possible slowly buying each thing sepperatly(on my first grow like an idiot I germinated a seed and had it in a Dixie cup for 3 weeks before I could get to the hydroshop and get a 3 gal bucket/catcher, nutes, my own soil. We all do stupid things at the beginning. Now that I know I can grow a plant well I'm going to work on making it as good as I can. I had a great metal or aluminum portable closet I was going to turn into a grow closet but it got tossed not by me.

Monster cropping/revegging sounds very interesting. I had no idea a plant could live past it's general lifetime. I know of people keeping mother plants but those never go into flower as far as I know.

@Nugachino your plant in your sig looks nice man. Nice and dark green and vegging well. What's interesting to me is people advise against using 6500k lights to flower but idk if you can tell from my pics I've yet to get a set of 2700k tubes for my light and it's flowered fine. I read truth be told the lower spectrum stresses the plant out(maybe that helps with bud and resin production why it's favored?) My fan is a small clip on desk fan. Something inside is loose and bangs around inside and causes it to vibrate and make a loud grinding like sound. No idea. I'm no good with DIY shit. Either way I gotta happy harvest coming!

Not every strain takes to reveg as good as others. Some are faster at it. It was just an idea for those cases where you have a special plant you don't want to lose. @Bose has a good journal on reveging some plants.

I grow with t5 in an oak wardrobe. Its good for stealth.

I added a board at the bottom to seal it off so no light comes out. I used to run it with the drawers in the bottom. I removed them and cut that hole to get more space. I took the pick before I finished the bottom.

@whitebb2727 that is a beautiful cab man! Damn well put together. I like how you even fit a carbon filter in there. I never could do that here as I'm in a rooming house so I can't do anything to alter the room as far as nailing up or drilling holes for stuff. You got everything... A temp/humidity guage, nice chain for your light so you don't need to physically move the plants down and or worry about the cardboard getting warped and the plant unknowingly tipping/falling over(happened to me with a bagseed plant but it still lived despite the soil on the rug and the root ball and side roots hanging out. I got the same fan but mine blows very softly. It's a beautiful DIY cab! Props man!
I was going to turn a metal portable cabinet or closet watever into a grow cab but it was thrown out before I could make space for it. Yeah I love wooden cabs like that. When I first tried to start back in 05-06 I built one myself. I hung a blanket over it and put some air fresheners on top and some other shit and it was great till an even occurred and the person who took my plants and shit to watch for a night stole it all and moved to Cali. Took me many years to decide to get back into the game after that. I love your cab. If I could paint or screw in a homemade mini shelf like yours I'd be in heaven. I'm always looking on the side of the road the days I go out for a portable closet or bureau or something I could make into a growcab. No luck yet. Maybe this spring it's freezing here in Mass now. Beautiful cab again I love it. Very well done!

Yeah that was a good idea. With the bottom removed your golden. Space/height is key especially if you choose to grow a sativa or sativa heavy hybrid or even sativa like phenotype traits. I am an indica only person myself. As I use weed to help my paranoia, PTSD/GAD anxiety, social phobia and chronic pain for the most part indicas and high CBD strains seem to be best for me. All my autoflower beans I ordered from herbies are very short indica high strains for the most part but a few strains I'm iffy about trying. I'm very excited to try my 60 Day Wonder or auto Williams Wonder(90%indica) or one of my couple Pakistani Valley seeds(100% indica) but also interested to see how my auto narco purp comes out. Never tried an auto before. I like the idea of a fast turnaround since ATM I can only do one at a time. With just my one small T5 one plant flowering takes up all the space from one end to the other and as it only outputs 8,000 lumins I could never flower 2 at once. Almost made that mistake my first attempt after I set up the closet. Luckally one turned male but it was one I wanted to flower(Blue Dream).
I have a ton of stuff blockading my closet as you can see so it looks like it's just a storage space to the landlord not a closet made up to grow in hah. So far no problems and ima keep it that way. I'll never stop growing for any reason. It's my One Love and true hobby/obsession. I know it don't look it but if I wasn't poor you wouldn't see me, a wall, or anything I own without telling the Cannabis Culture someway. I love everything about this plant as well as it's hemp family member.
