I was looking at the agrosun fluorescent grow lights, the t12 bulb. Then came across the t5 bulbs which have a better lumens output.Which should I go with? Are the t5 bulbs good for plants?
thanx man I was debating on which one to go with.I am in the seeding process of three jock horror seeds and and two types of bag seeds just to get a comparison.
t8's are the other possibility, a lot cheaper than the t5's
i have seen some mention that t5's will burn if they touch leaf, t8's and t12's, not so much

I would suggest Cfls. They are cheap too and work quite well for veg. The 6500k 100w daylight bulbs only use 22 watts and you can put them 1/4 inch from the plants without burning them. I have 14 in a 4x4x5 ft cab instead of a 400wMH and my plants are very happy. Plus I am only using 308 watts insted of 400.
i don't think the color will matter, t5's just run hotter
not that they can't be used with fine results
but i've seen a few growers remark they weren't that thrilled with t5's, that t8's give just as good a result and were a lot cheaper
I'm hoping my setup is good.I have my pots in a 3 and a half foot tall cage on top of of stakable crates to bring them to the light with garden sprayers up top and three lights,a fluorescent and two regular lamps. So,I was thinking of using both cfl's and the t5.
