T5?

Hey guys I was thinking of buy this T5 light fixture but wanted to be conscious of what the specs are.. I found this

"T5 lamps are available for standard output and high output. The wattages for standard T5 lamps are 14, 21, 28, and 35 watts. The high-output T5 (T5 HO) lamps are available in 24, 39, 54, and 80 watts"

Is this right? If so, then what's the big deal with T5? Should I do this? Or run one 100w CFL and two 50W CFL and keep it simple? I have 3 babies

ho are usually 54 watt. That would be what you want(what all the retailers sell: hydrofarm, badboy, sunleaves ect) and there are good results to be had when using them. All depends on your budget. You'll get better results with the t-5 due to it having better light coverage

Yeah I hear you, what I mean is the amount of KWs I will be using. That's how you get busted, I'm in Florida so I gotta watch out for that.. the same goes for ordering seeds from seedbanks, yeah they'll deliver the beans to Florida but chances are they won't make it passed customs if sent USPS, then I'm screwed lol.

its the 2X2
I followed your link to the ebay site, and saw the opening price. My first impression was "My G-d, that's cheap"! It proves that first impressions are not always what they appear.

I have a new grow station that I have only had for a few weeks. There are two grow lights, both T5s. The first one is a 6 light fixture, EnviroGro FLT46 4-Ft, 6-Tube Fixture, T5 Bulbs Included. The reviews are interesting. The second grow light is the DuroLux DL844s Ho Fluorescent Hydroponic Bloom Veg Daisy Chain with Bulbs. This one is only a 4 bulb system, but both seem to be working well.

Here is something to remember though. While the DuroLux is less expensive, and not as delux as the EnviroGro system, there is one thing to keep in mind, and that is shipping. The DuroLux is much lighter, and the bulbs were wrapped together, around a tube to give it strength. Then the tube package was nestled within the structure. With the 6 bulb EnviroGrow, all six bulbs were mounted in the receptacles. This may look nice on paper, but in shipping the package can easily be dropped or manhandled badly. Two of my bulbs were shattered, while the four with the cheaper/lighter DuroLux were safe and sound. Clearly the packaging with the DuroLux was superiour.

My grow station is set up to handle any type of plant, as I'm not a dedicated pot grower. So I have the station set up for standard commercial 1020 trays. This means the physical dimension of the platform needs to have a 20" depth to hold the trays. By studying the light distribution of the two light fixtures, the degree of distribution with each of the lights looks to be just as good as the other. I'm sure that when I get my replacements for th two broken bulbs, the light intensity will be better with the EnviroGrow, but that's yet to be seen.

Sounds like a Capital Idea racerboy. But I have to confess that I am at a disadvantage, since I just joined this lovely forum today, and I purchased my grow lights back in September. But if you have your time machine close by, perhaps I can borrow it and go back before my purchase date, so as to unbuy those 'junks' and start out anew.
