t8 lights for growing

I would love to do HPS for flowering, but I'm afraid it would be to hot for my closet, and I don't have a way to vent it
In the HID world, CMH (Phillips Ceramic Metal Halide) is getting a lot of good reviews. Supposedly runs cooler. Light color looks more natural.

LED is a good option to fight heat. There is a steep learning curve and a lot of snake oil out there.

I've used t8s for cloning, veg, and sidelighting during flower. The worked fine. Never tried a complete grow with just them though.

Like I said they all will work you just have to know what you want.:)

also why cant you vent out the clostw.you are in

Rental?

my small box I built is pretty tiny and I get good yields with my light on 600-1000w depending on temps and season

As coldsmoke has said multiple times, any light will grow a plant. So OP, why yes you can use a t8. Will t8's grow huge big buds? Nope lol. I have had some ok results with my T5's but kill it with hids. If heat is issue then T5's would be a good choice as well imo. Never tried the led's at HD though. Almost picked a few up but i'm running out of storage space for all the lights I have now lol.

Plus I believe you can run CMH from start to finish without having to swap bulbs for flower since it provides both blue and red light (I could be wrong, but that is what I've been told by friends who use them). If I had a mind to run a 1kW indoor grow CMH would probably be the route I'd go, at least until other tech catches up in terms of price. I'd be interested to see how it compares in smaller scale grows though, HID always seemed like it may be lacking when it comes to grows using total 150-200W when compared to CFL/LED/T5HO where it's easier to spread out the light for a couple smaller plants, but maybe with good canopy management you could feasibly do better with a 150w CMH or such.
