Taking a Clone during Flowering??

i have only one plant and it is very ready for flowering. my last attempt to get some clones did not work out, and so now i'm going to try again either today or tomorrow.

i'm assuming that once i put the plant in for flowering, that i cannot take clones properly and put them back in a vegetative state to grow roots and get big. is that right??

so, if these next two clones i take today or tomorrow do not work out again, my only mother plant will be in flowering by the time i find this out.

what should i do? should i hold off putting the mother in for flowering until i know the clones took and are hardy and growing?

you CAN take clones from a flowering plant, I wouldn't go past 2 weeks in though.
Use general hydroponics RAPID START, and you'll have a 100% success rate with clones

i have some clonex i'll be using. the reason i don't think they started much before was due to watering and their being too small cuttings to begin with. the mother plant has grown a lot since those first clone cuttings, so the clones will be thicker and more stable to begin. i plan on having the humidity nearly optimal and using a preferable water ph this time around...like 5.5 or a little above.

but that is very good to know i can still take some cuttings if i need to once it's in flowering. i'll cut these clones and probably put the mother plant in flowering tomorrow. i'll know by 2 weeks if the clones will flourish, for sures.

I've taken clones as late as 7 weeks in before. They took a long time to root and start to put off new growth but it's possible to take clones at any time during flowering. It's just going to be a little more challenging the further into flowering that you are. Happy growing!:weed:

Cool, You should try that rapid start, I used olivia's and clonex in the past with o.k results. I've saved several clones that wouldn't root for 3 weeks, I Get at least 8 different roots protruding my rapid rooter in 6 days with this stuff. I turned all my customers on to it and there digging it. And it can be used thru flowering.

Takes a long time is an understatement, the mother was 4mos old 1 mo into flower, under two weeks in peat puck to root, 2wks under 12/12 and im growing 3 buds, that's it, no new growth like branches or hieght, so if it's true, and these things will start growing, is yet to be seen. and no im not reveging them.

even if you wait til say 4-6 weeks in flower, it is still doable to take a clone. it is just harder to get it to root the longer it has been in flower. when you flip back to veg, the new growth will actually come from the bud as the form of a shoot/branch. looks odd, but you can totally go back to veg.. they always will have little hairs though once they have been flowered.
