taking a plunge in AN's line up.

i don't see how you are going to be able to get around inside that room with the door at the end like that. i mean that is gonna be really tight. why not do a door in the middle of the 7' long wall. then you can walk in and have a 400w light on the right and one on the left. you could easily do 4 smaller plants in 3 gallon pots on either side. then you'll have some room in the middle for equipment as well. you might end up needing a dehumidifier or something. then, since you have 2 sides you could do a 30 day perpertual. harvest one side every 30 days. that would be nice.

where are you going to veg the plants? the tent idea is perfect for the dark period. i do the same thing. i have a tent that has a/c and a dehumidifier with some green lights and regular lighting. it's where i do my dark period, trimming and drying. i also cure my weed in there. too humid where i live.
 
thats what i was saying also, its still going to be a tight squeez. but the 2 light idea is good. then i could just go with 600s, and for vegging them i can use the tent? and get a new one for the drying. i could turn part of my closet into a clone/veg area it weould be 2ftdeepx4ftwidex7fttall with some t5s in it its fine if i dont have a perpetual goign but it would be mnice.even if it wsa 2-3 plants every 4-6weeks. in stead of waitng 3-4 months.depending on where i put my room in the basement i might be able to add it on there.

i think you still do 400w lights. i don't think you'll need 600's unless you ar growing plants taller than 4' and i don't think you are. 400's will be plenty for short autos like that. plus you can get a perfect square of 4 plants under each light.

if you time it right then you could use the tent for veg and then use it to dry the plants as well. as soon as you put the plants in the tent for darkness you take out the vegging ones and throw them in the flower room. then 7-10 days later when you are done drying you can start new vegging plants for the next crop in 3 weeks on the other side of the room.
 
Yeah I thibk I woukd veg maybe 4-5 weeks. Get a good bush all round the final pot. I might be able to extend the room from 3ft to 4-4.5 ft but would lose space due to running into the stairs. Or just move tho room completly. Ill think of a different spot and try to make it like a 5x5 in a corber or something. Just gotta do some th ing about the windows.
 
i think 400w lights are perfect for 3x3 areas and 3' plants. 600's for 3.5x3.5 and 4' plants. i think 400's will be perfect for that space. if you put the room elsewhere then desing the room to the lighting you want. a 5x5 room will be a pain to light cause it's an odd shape. you always need additional apce in the room for othe rthings and to walk around. if you wanna do 2 lights or 3 lights just plan out the footprint and then desing the room around that. let me know if you need help and i can mock up a floorplan for you in a software program i have.
 
Ill get a few spot for the room but I want to make it discret as possible I might just board off the wall all the way to the left from top to bottom and make lije a room in the middle of that when im by a computer ill nake a quick sketck and tomorrow ill get actual mesuarments of the other olaces I would like it. If you could do that, that would be nice. Cuz im doing all the framing and drywalling but not electrial my cousins are coming to do that.

no problem bro. i think you just wall off the left side of the basement on that drawing you posted before. you could do a nice flower and veg room over there. then with 2 doors you just keep them locked and they look like storage or something. not sure what your budget or desires are, might not need to go too big if you aren't gonna be throwing a/c units in there.

overview.jpg new room is all the way to the left. the other 14' would e storage and i would make the door in that room. i guess only problem would be the air cooled hoods if i do them. figure with 2 400w, it will get the temps up there if not then we might not go with it, but if anything i could make it like this also.overview.jpg
 
well for the room to be built i would like to spend no more then 700-800 to wall off that one side make it a storage/grow. i can veg in my closet to keep a better eye on them and idk once i find a final one i want i will figure out how much it is going to cost and if its to much i just will tweak what i have to or just go a bit smaller. as for the grow room walls im just going to use pandafilm stapled to the framing. svae money in there. and then wall up everything else and put a door in also.
 
i'm gonna mock something up for you. gimme a second. i like the second idea better. i would make the door going into the middle room and then have doors from there going to each smaller room. i would do a veg and a flower. then, maybe later on down the line you do a nice countertop and sink with plenty of shelf storage in the center room. that would be wicked. if you are sticking with 2 400's then you probably won't even need the rooms to be that big. i'll figure it out when i get it all loaded in the program. you could even do 2 600's and grow some bigger plants. i don't think autos get that big so it might be overkill. either way, you are going to have to vent that hot air somewhere. are you gonna dump it into the basement or go outside with it? where are you going to pull the air from to go through the hoods; the basement or outside? depending on where you live and the climate you could probably get away with 2 600's and no a/c unit. if your basement stays cool and/or cold in the winter then you could just exhaust the hoods somewhere and use active intake fans hooked up to thermostat controllers to pull cool air from the basement into the rooms. you might need space heaters in the winter. don't know where you live though.
 
here's some pics from tonight.

day 56 for these girls. ones in front are Amnesia Haze and the ones in back are Bubblegum. 1 Pure Power Plant on the right but that's the last of that strain for me. too leafy and i don't like the buds. that was the mom i was just flowering out. first close up is AH; usually around 65 day strain. second one is Bubblegum; around an 85 day strain.

these girls are on day 30. i vegged them a little longer than usual and transplanted to 7 gallon pots instead of 5 gallon ones. they really exploded when i switched to 12/12. the first closeup is Bubblegum again. it got huge. gonna be a monster cola. there is another one behind it in the first picture. the other 3 plants are Sour Diesel; usually around a 60 day strain. the last 3 pics are SD. been pushing the nutes a little heavier these last 2 crops. trying to test the limits.

some autos can get that big. a dude growing outside has a 10footer. ill find vid ina sec but its crazy. and i would just vent into one of thoses rooms or just the basement throughout, we dont have much temp variation in my basement always wround mid to low 70's. i think 400s would suffice but 600 would be nice if it didnt get to hot, but leet say i get like a 4x4x6tent would a 400 be nice in there or the 600 cuz you were saying 400 is good for the 3x3 and all.

for a 4x4 space i would get a 600 or a 1000 if you could handle the heat. tent size isn't as important as plant footprint. if you have a 4x4 tent any you plan on using the whole tent for plants then yes. but if you are gonna have other equipment in the tent or space around the sides then that might be overkill.
 
something like this would work out great for you. leaves you plenty of room to expand in the flower and veg rooms as well. you could easily do 4x400's in this flower room.2 on either side of the door as you walk in. i positioned the sketch horizontally but this is the side wall you mapped out in your previous post. plenty of space in the middle for a work space and even a small tent for drying/curing. i'd spend the extra money on drywall and insulation. that panda film is crap and will make controlling your environment harder. plus it tears to easily and you can't hang anything from it.

really like that setup, which i might just do. i like that it uses both rooms. im going to start to figure out cost and all.
