First off, No! Second why would you give them your name. It's not illegal to buy lights and you don't have to be 18 or older. The only way i could see them needing your name is for a mailing list and I always decline. Jst buy your stuff and don't talk abt anything illegal.

Well that is what i said to, just go in ther do what you went there to do and get out. and if they ever asked all i have to say is i am using them for my sons science project. ITs just like a head shop right as long as you don't say you are using the shit for weed you are ok right. I was just wondering if there is any truth to it

No, they don't do that; at least they don't at the store that I go to. I DO try to stay out of there if it's crowded. There aren't any laws against a cop walking in to one in normal clothes (or uniform) and looking around.

never where i go... i would turn around and walk out if they demanded my name in order for me to buy shit. you dont ahve to give them anything where i live, maybe it vaires from place to place though... you can probably look up to see if there are laws about that kind of thing in your area.

Being in possession of growing equipment is not a crime.

A business that snitches to law enforcement on legal purchases has no respect for its customers. Such businesses tend to go out of business.

I agree with Doe-Eyed. Ask the shit-house lawyer for some evidence or documentation that any business makes a practice of this.

I have a few friends that work in local grow shops.

I believe it is cracked up to this, due to the type of business they run they are required to report certain things. Just like any company they have to report their earnings, spendings etc. But to top it off if they have reasonable suspician that you are attempting to cultivate cannabis illegally they are supposed to report you.

If you use cash they don't seem to have any other information from you and it stops there. If you do use a card they have a way of linking you. Generally they arn't going to care though as probably they are growing 'tomatoes' at home too.

Makes sense. Consider any head shop or hydroponics store. If you even hint at what your actual intentions are, you get the evil eye if you are lucky. And you get tossed out of the store if you do not heed their warning.

But that is just common sense. Only a total moron would stroll into an unfamiliar hydro store and disclose any information about illegal activities.

Make sure the coppers are not parked out front taking license plate numbers and pay cash.

If you notice I also left in a 'supposed to' like you said most of em will just throw you out. If you are buying a light I would just say it is so you can light your backyard and grow your lawn extra nice. That is if they even ask, which they won't. Cause they already know. Tomatoes remember...

If they think this is fallacious screw them, who knows you might be some dumbass with disposable income...

they don't do it, but it's not to say they wouldn't/couldn't.

i had a tv card in my computer, so i popped into the local pcworld and bought an arial, the guy at the checkout then asked me for my name and adress for warranty reasons, i kinda worked it out but couldn't have cared less about it. just as a figured, a week later a letter came to the family home for me demanding me to pay for a tv license :D

The economy is still flat those dudes will be happy for you to come drop a couple cnotes at thier shop. Don't be dontbe be a do be!!! Tomatoes is what you want to grow anyways unless you live in a med state.

The electricity company is supposed to report 'high usage homes' compared to their neighbors as well (atleast where I am, I looked into all the codes before I started my shit.)

Do they? Not unless you don't pay your bills. End of story, they want money.

why not use gas station attendants to check for dilated pupils so they can radio in the drink drivers to the pigs? seems liek a sensible way of getting results :)

speaking of gas stations, i don't understand how it is legal to sale blunt wraps when everyone know what you use them for but you get introuble if you buy what goes in the blunt wraps. my father in law got busted because the cops found a seed on the floor of his car
