I am not getting into any pissing matches...just dont test from the cola...try to find a low bud that looks the most mature.
By the way....I test VAPED bud, with whip, during end of my grow as I had a seven day chop difference in my strains. Imo, whip drying/testing is the best option if you are a "testing" type.

if you need smoke, pluck it. sure as shit better then paying for it! I've snipped early before, if you dry it over night on a heating pad set to high, its really not that bad of a smoke imo. i know some will toss a tomato at that idea, but thats probably because when they were quick drying they were in a hurry. it can be done right for a relative good taste test of what you've got imo.

thanks got my self a da buddha vaporiser a while back but only had schwag since i got it and it tastes even worse in vape cant wait to try something nice in there maybe ill pluck a little bit in a couple of days, had a power cut last night in the middle of this thread and lights were out for a few hours so i chucked a couple of torches in the grow space any idea how this is gonna affect my girls?

160F in the oven doesn't hurt the thc
I heat my oven up to 170F then turn it off, open the door for about 15 seconds, then stick the bud on some aluminum foil on the center rack(That I weighed to know how much it started off being)...then check it every 15-20 minutes...if it starts getting too cold i take the bud out and heat the oven back up again to 170F and turn it off again...I do this until I've lost about 50% of the weight...then its time to smoke it Ok, definitely do not take a cut from you main cola. Find a little crappy but riper looking nug bud down low. The last couple of weeks your buds are going to PLUMP, you definitely do not want to cut pieces from your main cola before it gets to plump up.
Also, the oven isnt that bad, just go low low temps. It will dry it ok and even leave a little flavor to it, if its a smelly strain.
Just think about it like a vaporizer, its what 200+ degrees to vaporize thc? So you want to be lower than that.
And lastly, the buzz is most certainly going to mature over the curing process. It should give you a nice buzz now. Being your first grow, you will even have a nice, satisfied feeling on top of it. Just keep in mind, it gets better. The more you smoke now is less you will get to smoke when it is at its best.

i know this thread is kinda dead but i want to poke my head and say what the fuck....(katch that sweet action poetry in motion????) real people do not test real food while it is being cooked...go ask your not permafried grandma if she "taste tests" her world famous cherrry pie before its done baking in her sweet sexy oven box????? i mean cause thats what oven boxes are for...real food not fake weed. im not gonna lie i have fast dried before and hell even done an early harvest or two but lets be honest no self respecting man of the smoke is gonna let all his time and effort and the work of his ladies be cut short, thats like a farmer trying to eat some punk ass little pototoes...hows he gonna feed his family through the winter if he cant even last through the pains of hunger during the hot days of summer????? how could any ancient greek make wine fit for consumption with raisins in a week in a jail cell toilet???? if you are here on this site i assume it is because your not living with your parents and make decisions on how to spend the money you earn...so how could you not want to make a true "garden" to sustain yourself????? take one month and eat roman noodles out of dirty dishes in last weeks laundry and by yourself a nice light and sleep in the living room on the couch to flower in your room, make sacrifices for your plants not sacrifece your plant to the i cant wait gods of impatience. the extra two weeks of waiting are gonna translate into 2 more weeks of solid smoking cause its ALL gonna be one hit quit instead of i didnt grow this shit. (and all you guys who grow for patients HAVE to grow your shit to specs, so you know what its like NOT being able to taste test

thanks everyone for all your comments have decided against taking any testers as its my first plant im gonna really savour her, reckon shes only about a week off now anyway, lots of good info and views thanks again all.
